Today I noticed that when I take off from a dead stop as I pass 2000 rpm there is a significant shake coming from the rear. It feels like the right rear at that. Anyone have any ideas what would cause this? It is more pronounced the more throttle I give it.

It is a 1999 528i (e39) with 150,000 miles. Thanks...

I guess it could be the rear diff too..

I think I have this as well, except in 1st and second, but hard for passengers to notice..

I think that it is the diff. now.. Just because if I am in second I get the same feeling when I pass 15 to 20 mph. I will have the mechanic check for the cracked bracket as well.

Would a diff, oil change help at all?

Thanks for the tip, but what is the "MAF" and "ICV"?

It looks like the issue is with the center support bearing or carrier bearing. Does that sound correct?
