here's my upcoming spring project w/c i thought i'd share(i know,it's still early winter and dreaming of spring chickens already LOL)....spring is going to be a busy one :eyecrazy
bought this stripped 89 e30m3 shell last weekend locally-luckily no major rust w/ just some minor dings and most important-still has a clean title and a rear bumper!

here it is....bare shell w/ no suspension and real dusty:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/Picture004.jpg

installed my extra 5 lug suspension set up w/ wheels to make her a roller,a cross member w/ rack and a steering wheel then dollied it home:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/Picture010.jpg

will be swapping every single nut, bolt, body panel, glass etc from this wreck i bought last year:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/0419081340.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/0419081339a.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/0419081341.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/Picture005.jpg

i first plan to stripp it more down to it's bare bones, deal w/ all the dings and body work myself then take it to the painters and have it painted jet black or imola red along w/ the doors, fender and bumper from the donor.
interior will be redone in all black and still keeping it's soul...the s14.
it'll be a long project that'll keep me busy for a good while.
i call it "project save an e30m3" or maybe "project piece together your own m3" LOL...
kinda excited about this:)

Sushi's good. I want to build a track car, but there's no room around my (parents') house. I do get to work on my dad's 1969 442 which is a borderline drag car now.

I've been eying E30 donor shells lately. I've got an S50 sitting in the garage with nowhere to go.

there's a local sushi place here in pasadena that's awesome and most specially they have what you call "saki bombs"
couple shots of those and you'll be lit!

i'm flexible on the price as long as i know it's going into good hands....
so,if you want it come and get it
oh and bring your truck as there's a lot of good parts that it will come with:buttrock

Crazy to undergo the project(it will be worth it in the end). I'd get rid of a 2002 any day for an e30 me, to each his own though.

Where does one look to pick up an E30M3 "shell" and or wrecked donor cars, etc?

Around. I think RRT still has an e30 m3 shell in the back of their shop.

i found both cars on craigslist....
baltimore c-list to be exact:)

UPDATE:
i started piecing out the donor this past couple of days since the weather
was a bit warm.
i'll be starting from the front and working towards the back,boxing/labeling the little parts.
i took the motor/tranny/harness out and all of the front suspension/bumper assembly.
i'll be taking the fenders, doors, interior and glass out hopefully this weekend(weather permitting)
my space in my carport is limited so,i need to get rid of the soon to be totally stripped, wrecked carcass and put the one being restored in it's place.(here's where my sawzall will come in handy:D)

sweet van yo :)
very sweet indeed:D
she's my dodge sport van rolling hauler/storage.
she serves me very well from towing cars,my 18 footer boat and picking up needed parts from near and far-never left me stranded.
did i mention it has 3 motors in it?
a 3.3l dodge motor,an m50 and an s14 LOL....

Damn rob, sell me a 5 lug set-up. The s50 is almost done, I'll have to swing by when I get it in the car.
i would love to check out your swap-maybe when it warms up a bit call me and swing on by.
hey,in about 4 months there'll be the carlisle,pa car show again- ample time to get our buggies ready.....

here's another update on the car:
i decided to "hang" or do an easy install on the panels/doors/bumpers.
storage space for the big items where limited so i thought, best place to keep them is to mount them on the car.
i can have them all out again in an hr or so for painting but,it'll sit this way for the time being.....

from this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/Picture009.jpg

to this: now she looks more like a car rather than a carcass.....

e30m3 line up w the wrecked donor covered at the end....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/vr4boy/project%20e30m3/Picture013.jpg

thanks to Bruce from RRT for hooking me up w/ the silver trunk:)

328 on the street but,not for long as i'm gaining some yardage day by day...once i'm done cutting up the wrecked e30m3 shell, all the other cars will be moving forward....
i'm down to 1/4 of an e30 m3:eyecrazy:eyecrazy:eyecrazy:eyecrazy(pic not for the faint of heart)
