My pathway lighting doesn't stay on when I exit the car, Only when I approach and use remote. Is this normal, or am I missing something.

On a 6 series or the 850? I can't say for that beauty but if you're in a 6er then it should stay on, check your settings menu I think there's options there.

The settings have the pathway lighting set for 120 seconds, but turns off as soon as you lock it. An by the way, thanks for the compliment on the 850. It is a beautiful example of the 850. It has been meticulously maintained. Hense the purchase of a 650, no maintenance out of pocket for 50,000 miles.

Pathway lighting is active when you unlock the door. You get an LED illumination from from your side-view mirrors and the door-seals. If you us CA, the same will result.

Pathway lighting is active for a few seconds after you lock the car. essentially, you are turning off the car so the logic stands that you no longer require pathway lighting as you are walking away from the car. Pathway lighting is essential to the individual that is coming towards the car.

Hope this helps a bit.

It would be nice while parked in a dark area, you would have assistance from the lights to move around the vehicle and continue on to your place of interest incident free.( I'm Clumsy). Again Thank you.

Don't get me wrong... You can of course unlock the car which will illuminate the car (Previous post details). You can also press the the panic button once on the key fob and your headlights will illuminate.

Ours never left them on as we were leaving the car. BMW's are the only cars that don't do that, that I have seen.

I believe I'm still in picture jail or I would post a pic. Somebody clue me in when my sentence is up. Maybe I'll get early release for good behavior.

It just started costing to much per month too maintain. When I mean too much, It's almost cheaper to own the 650. Thanks for the compliments on it, it is a very beautiful and unbelievable car to drive. It's odd minus a few more refined options, when the salesman was pitching the car, he had a hard time showing me options and special features that my 8er did not already have, and by the way its a '91. Don't get me wrong the 6er is a more well refined car, but the 8er has most all of the same offerings. Stranger thing, is there is not a world of difference in the handling. They feel very closely related. Like brothers maybe.

You're in NC... So, my question is, have you ever driven the "Dragon" SR 129 (Near Robbinsville, NC and border Tennessee) AKA The Tail of The Dragon.

Your tired at the end of the 11 miles.

I have traversed that road some 50 times with my 750Li, M5 (E60), M3 (E92), 645Cic, and 650Cic. I love it. I burn no less than 2200 miles per trip.

For all interested, after you turn car off pull back on bright lights lever, and bright lights will illuminate for your exit. Works very well.
