Heater ???

Just bought a 1990 520, and the heater works when placed on defrost and floor mode however, it blows cold air on the vent/middle blowers. What would cause this and is it fixable? Even with all three heater sections on at the same time, the above 2 still blow hot air and the middle blower blows cold air. Thanks for any/all help

That is what it does. It is too keep you from falling asleep. The middle vents are slightly adjustable, ie warmish or coldish, but I haven't noticed much difference. I use defrost and floor to heat up the car and turn on the middle when it gets too hot.

Mine does almost the same exact thing except only my middle vents blow cold.

I don't think it's supposed to work that way. I thought you had the option of either hot or cold with the knob in the center vents. Mine has no change regardless of where I put that knob.

The middle vents have a knob inbetween them to control the temp. Mine blow out hot air on full heat setting.
