Ok I finally got my 88 325i yesterday. A few things, the clutch is a BEAST! But I am learning to tame her. Problems I get are that when I try to get out of first sometimes, and I dont give it a lot of gas, it kinda jolts until it gets to about 20 MPH. Like the acceleration is kinda weird, but its got a very strong 2nd and 3rd. I can do 80 in 2ng gear. :). Its great, not smart, but I do, it doesnt redline either. Anyways, also the AC doesnt work too well I think. I WANT COLD AIR! Sometimes it will be warm, hot, and not cold. Also I think I should tint, because I have all black inside and I park my car in the sun, or should I get a front visor thing. Umm lets see some other things, does any one else have a problem getting out of first smoothly, the clutch kind of like pushes back hard, and I dont know if I am jumping the gun getting out of first or not, it just kinda jolts a little, to where I am not in front of the pack. :). I will have a picture gallery of my car up soon, and soon it will be decked out with all MOMO stuff. BTW, if you need any MOMO stuff, contact me. Thanks.

I'm glad you don't want people stopping by your house unexpected like, but where exactly in Southern California are you?

If you are in San Diego county, I can probably take care of the clutch problem for you for free. If you live in Orange or north, sorry. Have you had it checked over by a shop yet? The E30 is a great little car, but some stuff does tend to break.

Get the visor and the tint. The visor in particular if the dash hasn't cracked yet. Park with the back of the car toward the afternoon sun too.

I could write a book on E30s. I love them to death though!

O well actually the car is going into the shop Tuesday to get all this stuff done, minor body work, engine shit. A lot of stuff being done, like 1500-2000 of work. Just to get it to tip/top shape, so maybe thats my problem. :) I hope. I am in Orange County, southern orange county, like 1:30 - 2 hours away from San Diego, actually i was just done there yesterday picking up my car off of Birmingham dr, Del Mar Heights Rd, and La Holla rd. Late.

Orange County? 1.5 - 2 hours from San Diego?

Damn you people drive slow. My usual commute from Buttonwillow is only 2.5 hours door-to-door.

But then, I've got this problem with my foot, you see.... :)

Ok all, I have a figured it out guys. I am starting in 3rd gear sometimes. Yes it may be weird, but these sometimes when I kinda idle the car, I feel that I was starting in 3rd gear, because I KNOW FOR A FACT, that I can get up to 80 with only 1 shift. So I think thats my problem, just gotta start in 1st gear, and that will take away that jolt. :). thanks and i think igot it now.

When your car ages the bushings in the shifter will start to wear. Thats why you're starting in third instead of first. I had that proplem in my 2002. If you're gonna need to replace the bushings this may be the perfect time for a short shifter. I had to wonder about the 80mph in second. I had an e30 and great cars that they are, a bone stock one isn't going to do 80 in second. Have fun with your car.
