I came across these:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/965417888.html

i pm'ed the guy and said ATEV is engraved on the wheels. Not very knowledgeable about them. Unknown offset but said they were on his cousin's M3. I offered him $150 and I'm waiting for reply.

BMW Rime? I love craigslist sometimes.

Powdercoat them black. 17x10 in the rear? Nice. What're the offsets? Are they ATEV or Azev?

If you like them go for it. Personally I'd dechrome and paint them then rock em.

Good luck

Those wheels are sick. 150 would be too good to pass up.

I'm sure the offset will be wrong since they were on a 3 series.. but for $150.. I'd make them work with some spacers... Actually, if they were on a M3 E46.. the rears will have a correct offset, but not the fronts.

I like them definitely, they look a lot like MKs.

engraved on the wheels:

Front: 8 1/2Jx17 H2
Rear: 10J x17 H2

and i went on their site and they have the converstion in MM

front: et 13
rear: et 17

btw, where did you get your wheels stripped and pc'ed? I was looking for that old pm about this but no luck finding it.

Something bothers me about those wheels. Maybe it's the contour of the spokes and the dimples where they conjoin, maybe it's the lug cover... I don't know. I'm not a fan of them.

bump for update.

I scored once again!!!:alright The guy (Jorge) accepted my $150 offer. Darn, i could've went lower.:mad Anyways, the wheels were better than expected. The wheels are straight and true. there's a little bit of curve rush on one of the rear wheels. The chrome is in surprisingly great condition. No peeling off or bubbling. Just need to give it a good buff. The bad part is that the wheels were re-drilled for addition lug pattern. So they look like those japanese wheels with multi-lug patterns. Well luckily i can cover them up with the center caps. The center caps could use new center stickers. I'll post pics as soon as i get them cleaned and buff. Then soon enough i'll have them sent out for de-chrome and PC. Finish is to be decided.:D

Man you've definitely had some nice wheel finds. Congrats man, post pics! I want to see what they really look like. They should have ~3" lips if they are the low offset 10's

thanks jonathan. The wheels clearly say's ATEV not AZEV on it. Could this be a mock-up. Tried googling it but no luck there. But it say's MADE IN GERMANY on the back of the spoke. The wheels are really light. I'd say lighter than my ACS. Also, I peeled off the BMW sticker on top of the center caps and revealed the original AZEV centers. I'm confuse.

btw. What finish would look good on these. I'll have these on my ArcticGray. I was thinking of something dark but don't really want to go full black.

Bump for pics as promised.

Did a bit of research and found out that ATEV was the original company name until it was changed in 90's to AZEV. So i guess they're not mock-up/copy wheels. :alright

Currently in chrome but not for long, well, at least till i figure out few things:
1. What finish will go great with Arcticgray? I'm thinking something dark but not black, maybe hyperblack.
2. As you can see one of the center caps is different from the rest. I was thinking of going flat center for the fronts and keep the back as they are or keep them all original (not flat surface).
3. What size tires to go with. Should i go a little stretch or meat? my initial thought was 245/40f 265/40r.

opinions will be appreciated.

I'm a big fan of the flat caps...not so much the bmw caps. Nice pick-up though. Good looking wheels. Put some meat on them... no stretch needed.

i know. i came across your fs thread when i google'd ATEV. man you sold yours cheap.

just went out to check and it was just a surface scratch. got me all worried there for a sec.

Are you sure? It's weird to have a scratch like that on the back, you should take a scouring pad to it or bring it to a wheel shop to have them take a look. Better than a wheel coming apart on you.
