What is the going rate? I charge $20 per corner for a basic fender roll using a fender roller and a heat gun.

Thats not a bad rate for someone with experience. That guy charges $50 for the tool rental with the heat gun.

Wow, $50 just to rent a $250 tool? For $30 more I'm doing all the work... Maybe I need to raise my price.

Yeah, usually people just get 4-5 cars and rent the tool so its only about $10 per car.
If you're charging $20 per corner, usually people only roll the rears no real need to do the fronts. for $40 that's pretty cheap.

That settles it... the price stays at $20 per corner.

I would wait till spring. Its really hard to get everything warm enough even with a heat gun to not crack your paint.
Ask me how I know.

Got one coming from NY. Autoscope is going to install it and a new clutch in a few weeks. Not really feeling up to bench pressing the tranny up there.

Well, I dont know if you call $2,500 worked out.
Have the motor torn up now for new valve cover gaskets. Spent most of the day yesterday stripping that old gold crap off and painting them black. Hoping is a little warmer on Monday to put it all back together.

tranny is $1,250. Best price I could find. the Rest is Clutch kit and about $600 for labor. Im not getting in done till the tranny gets here in a week or so. Im sure it will be between $2,200 and $2,500.

$600? you could scoop up the LUK kit for that tranny for something around 3-400. thats what ive seen them going for new. try searching on the M5board. if you are going to swap that stuff, might as well scoop up something which would be an upgrade. your tranny should be same as mine but i believe i have different syncros.

At $100-$120/hr I'd imagine they have some top notch waiting room furniture. I'm not bashing them in any way, I'm just a bit surprised.
