I have a 95 M3 and I am intrested in purchasing some asa ar1's. I just got off the phone with a guy from the tire rack and he told me I cannot do the staggered setup on a 95 without rolling the 1/4 panels on the vehicle. I was trying to go 18x9 in the rear and 18x8 in the front. Does anybody know if this is true? Or do I have to go 18x8 front and rear? I also have a 98 bmw m3 and he said with that vehicle I can go with 18x9 in the rear. Does anyone have these wheels, and can I do 18x9 's in the rear of a 95 M3? Thank you in advance.

The bodies are exactly the same. The guy doesnt know what he is talking about. He is only going by what the cars came with from the factory (i.e 95's non staggered and 96+ staggered) You can def fit 9 inches in the rear if he says it will work on the 98 m3. Worst case you'd have to roll the fenders, which would be the case on any e36's since they are all the same.

If your question is if AR1's are wildly played out, the answer is yes.

I kid, I kid; it's a good looking wheel, and savage is right- tire rack dude is full of a void of knowledge.

I just like the style of the wheel, and I don't have enough left over to buy bbs's yet. lol

I have these rims and they arent bad. Im just going to warn you they "might" bend relatively easily. I bent 2 of mine on a wicked pothole but then again it could have been any rim. Either way GL they are great rims for the price. BTW are u gettin them black or just silver?

I am running the ASA AR1 staggerd setup from Tirerack with 245/35/18 in the back on the 9in rim and 225/40/18 on the 8in rim up front. They fit with no issues at all. I also have the HR sport springs so if you are stock you should be even more safe.

I have some, sitting on PSS9s

go with the set up you want. it will work.
you have an M3 get staggered rims please.

18x8 front 225/40/18, 225/35/18, 235/40/18, 235/35/18 (5mm spacer or 10mm will do. depends on your suspension setup)
18x9 rear 255/35/18, 245/35/18 (no spacer)
if you dont lower your car you dont have to roll the rear fenders
if you do lower your car you will have to roll the rear fenders or it will RUB

I have bilstein sports with H&R sport springs. Will I need spacers?

I have 18x8s all around (came liek that when i bought the car :(). I also have the same suspension as you so far i have 0 problems with rubbing although i am running a smaller tire setup 225/40/18 all around. I think you'll be fine but 255 is def as wide as u want to go.

And you'd want that inferior setup because why?

you might need spacers depending on your suspension setup.
Sometimes the front rims or tires will rub the suspension due to bigger tire or wheel size.

With your set up i dunno.. But like i said. a 5mm spacer or 10mm you should be fine.
also when you get spacers make sure you buy longer bolts too.

Not sure if I am typing in an invisible font or not but I am running the 18x8 and 18x9 ASA AR1 setup with 225/40/18's up front (no spacer) and 245/35/18's in back with (no spacer) on HR Sports. The only difference is I am on stock shocks and not Bilstein sports. I don't think the difference in ride height there is enough to worry about though (or is it?) and I have no rubbing or bottoming out issues at all.

all M3's comes with staggered set up wheels so keep it that way and i bet BMW did it for a good reason too.

i had those wheels. they came on my s2000 when i bought it. they sucked! they weighed a ton. i can't believe they advertise them as 'light weight.' when i finally tracked down a set of stock wheels to put on the car, it was a huge improvement, felt a lot faster due to dropped 4+lbs a wheel. if you care at all about performance, don't buy.

I had these on my e30 M3. Looked very nice IMO and at a decent price.

The fitted narrower front wheels because the idiot public got themselves into trouble with "over steering" Ms.

And not all M3's came staggered. 96+ only. ;)
