Im replacing my clutch over xmas, and I have been looking into the JB system. I have read some stuff about them and they seem like they make a good system. Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with one?

Love mine, chatters like a bitch in neutral idling but it's nothing I can't live with.

I have a JB Racing lightweight flywheel. It's high quality. No complaints.

I bought my JB Racing flywheel and clutch combo from Bimmerworld. Very pleased with the setup.

Bought mine from Bimmerworld as well 2 years ago. 20k miles later and still happy with it. Like bennyfizzle said though, sometimes it can chatter like a bitch... especially in the summer when the a/c compressor kicks on. It's tolerable and can be expected with any ltw flywheel setup.

Thanks for the feed back guys, nice to hear that its a good system, how was the performance end of it? Does the car rev up a-lot faster?

I installed it on my 328... it was not their lightest option though - I think mine is about 12lbs? Its been a while now, so I'm not sure.
I like it. It does rev considerably quicker. I like it.
Plus, the friction plates are replaceable.

Okay so I looked up some archive threads about LTW flywheels and JB's clutch pack, good majority of them say its not a useful mod at all.

for DD, no. its really not a great mod. But if u track ur car, or need faster rev matching, or looking for that extra oompffff from mainly 1st and second, then yeah its a good mod if u can live with the easier stalling, slight chatter (depends on the car), and less harmonic balancing (oil pump more likely to fall off).

I have never tracked my car and love my LTW flywheel and HD clutch. Mine is from AA and was not cheap, but I had driven Marco's car and heard no rattle and found it to be very driveable. Marco is an AA vendor, marc1119 here on the forums, and usually has the best prices. Again, the AA system is probably the most expensive, but it does work well. I use a raised idle speed of 850 rpm (part of my supercharger software) and Redline MTL instead of the thinner D4ATF and almost never hear any rattle.
Make sure you find a combination that works. Plenty of people complain about LTW flywheels. They rattle, the clutch is too stiff, the clutch slips, the car stalls, etc. Get exactly the combination that works. It may involve a certain weight flywheel, a certain clutch disc and cover, a certain slave cylinder, a certain engine rpm (through software changes only, unfortunately), and a certain tranny fluid mix. For this reason, the kits from companies that sell many and have sold them for years are probably best. UUC and AA, for example.
The effect of an aluminum flywheel is like removing 250 lbs from your car in 1st gear, 150 lbs from 2nd gear, 50 lbs in 3rd gear, and nothing in 4th or 5th. Sort of like losing a passenger in the lower gears. You can feel it. Also, the car revs beautifully and freely.

Anybody have any advice on a lightweight flywheel with a regular Sachs Clutch? Would it work? Does the clutch need to be upgraded also? Let me know.
Thanks.
Anyone???

I am using JBR flywheel with totally stock factory BMW 96 M3 clutch . Have 50+ track days and 15,000 street miles.
So far so good.
yes it rattles a bunch when hot and in neutral.
