SOLD
Been a while since I've posted. Been lurking here and there. Hope everyone is doing well.
I've made a tough decision. I'm selling my car. Actually, it almost feels like I'm giving it away.
If y'all know of anyone looking for a CM race car please let them know about me. I need to sell by the end of the year!
SOLD
S50B32 euro engine with schrick cams and Alpha N tune (23k mile engine)
Many have commented about the power of my car. It's a strong car...just never got the driver up to speed.:stickoutt
UPDATED PARTS LIST ON POST #22
Moton/JRZ motorsport triple adj. suspension
Lightweight flywheel
Brembo BBK
3 inch exhaust
Piper Motorsport custom cage
solid mounts everywhere
new front wheel bearings
new control arms
new tie rods
Crawford rear wing
Lexan on all windows
3.91 diff w/40% lockup
GC front sway
Vorschlag adj camber plates
You get the idea, there's a long list of parts that I won't get into now. Really, just a heads up letting you guys know that I need a buyer.
The car does need a clutch. I broke the pressure plate straps at Mid Ohio back in May. I was using the M5 clutch...didn't work out with all the new found power of the engine mods! lol
The front bumper could use a respray due to track debris.
Sheesh, I don't think I need to tell anyone what a great deal it is that I'm offering.
The catch...car must be sold by the end of the year!
I'll make an ad in the track car/specialty for sale section of this forum.
Any questions about the car can be sent to my email address:
kenarutunian@hotmail.com
Thanks for looking!

I've had the same thought.
as a $25k "investment," this car will probably perform better than stocks over the next 2 yrs.

I'm taking the car off the trailer today. I'll post pics from past events and current.
Here's a link to my personal *mylaps* page. Please note, significant improvements were underway with the Roebling Road event.

I finally hit pay dirt at CMP with a 1st in class and 2nd overall in 02/2008.
Car was SIGNIFICANTLY improved after the CMP event. This is when I took the car to Racer's Edge in Knoxville, TN. Karl and his crew went through the car and we replaced or rebuilt all known issues. I also had the Schrick cams installed at Racer's Edge and Karl did a corner balance.
Look at my lap times at Mid Ohio. I'd never driven that track. I was having issues with a light rear end under heavy braking. A key adjustment was made to the front low speed bump settings and my lap times were getting down into the top 3 range. It's a shame that the clutch couldn't handle the new found power.
It's obvious looking at the early days vs. the last few events. The car is a contender in the right hands. I'm very proud of what I accomplished. Someone is going to get a hell of a deal!
BTW, I never raced on a set of sticker slicks. Those results were with dumpster" tires. :D
Pics are coming!
Thanks for all the kind words guys! Those of you who remember me, I put a lot of my blood, sweat and tears into this car. I'm proud of what I accomplished.

OK, here's a link to some pics taken during the May '08 event at Mid Ohio.
Car looks the same today!
Sorry I couldn't get pics up on bfc. The pics must be really high quality. I kept getting a msg that the file was too large even after I'd reduced the size down to 20% of the original image. Crazy!

Ken, do you have any pics of the cage? Does it pick up the front towers? Rear subframe?
Hey Sean,
Yes and yes.
Here are some pics of when the cage was finished prior to painting. I think it's enough to get a clue as to what Mitch did.
I was really hoping to get in the garage today to take more pics. I've just been too busy. Might try later tonight.
Sean, the rear cage was also designed specifically for rear coilovers...which is how the suspension is setup today. The third image captures what Mitch did. Essentially, the damper mounts underneath the car in the rear tire well. Not relying on the thin shock tower material.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I meant to mention that I'm open to trade for a STREET car.
I think we all know that my car is worth a heck of a lot more than $25k. I've received tons of emails suggesting such thoughts. However, we also know that the economy makes it tough to sell anything automobile related right now.
So, I'm willing to trade on a RETAIL to RETAIL basis.
Retail on my car should be a minimum of $30K (that's still low...but the car does need a clutch and some fresh paint on the front bumper/nose). I'll assume that amount for a trade against your street car.
We could consider KBB (Kelly Blue Book Private Party Value) for your street car value.
So, if you have an interesting trade send me a PM or email and we can discuss.
Vehicles I'm mostly interested in would include:
BMW's
BMW E46 M3 (no convertibles)
BMW E53 '04 X5 4.8is
BMW E39 M5
Various AMG Mercedes Benz.
Porsche 996 coupe.
Porsche Cayenne S
Porsche Cayman
There are a lot of other vehicles I'd consider, so let me know what you want to trade.
Keep in mind, I'm not looking to write you a check. So, your trade vehicle's value needs to be within my $30K number.
For example: My car's value for trade is $30k
If an E46 M3 books out at $30k for private party on KBB...that would put us at an even trade. If the street car books for less...then I would expect the car plus cash.
Hopefully, that's clear. :D
And, this wasn't just for Sean to consider. It's available for anyone with a desirable trade. lol

Do I smell a trade coming on? Do it, we need more CM cars around here. We might have as many as 6 or 7 next year if you do.

Hey Bruce, I didn't get it until I looked at Sean's sig. You're right, maybe we could work something out?!
I'm open to ideas. These are times when the barter system might work really well for everyone involved!
BTW, I changed some of the wording as not to imply it was for Sean only. :D

I have a Cayman I can trade, but it would book over 30K. Unfortunate, cause I really like the car and not too far away.

Year? Color and miles? Auto or manual? Level of prep?
How far away are we on the numbers? On ebay, they're all over the place on pricing. Seems a 2007 non "S" is going for low $30's. KBB has nothing on pricing except for the "S" model...which appears to be around $6k-$7k difference.
At this point, the value is in the eye of the beholder. If I've got something you want and we can make it work for each other...I'm open to suggestions.
Feel free to PM or email me any offers. I think it's best to keep the details private.

Chris,
Thanks for the compliment! Miss being out there with you guys. The car is definitely better than I can drive now that it's been professionally set up.
I really wanted to get back to Roebling Road this year. I had so much fun last year.
Hope you have a great holiday season.
BTW, I bought my first bike this past summer. I purchased a 2002 BMW R1200C. It's the James Bond bike. First time I've ever owned a bike. Certainly not a monster speed demon that's track worthy...but it's been fun. I'd actually like to one day see what it feels like to put 2 wheels on a race track!

Not promising anything as I can't run a car on my own, but if I can split it with a friend or two, we may have something to talk about. What's the story with the chassis? Any major wrecks/bondo patches/other "issues"? Any spares that are available? Another couple sets of wheels would be nice and anything else to make it a "turn key" package. Also is there a trailer available?
BTW what did the car turn at MidO? Pro-course or the one with the chicane?

Previous damage:
In April 2007, I did have contact with a tire wall at VIR. Damage was mostly cosmetic. Front rails were slightly bent. The damage was done before the shock towers. $600 and a short stint on the frame rack got them pulled back into spec. Replaced both front fenders, hood, bumper cover, splitter, radiator, oil cooler and lines. Left rear quarter had a small dent that got repaired. Car received a complete paint job in GM Fleet White.
As for spares...practically everything on the car is either new or rebuilt. That said, I've got a spare 3.91 lsd diff w/stock lockup, fire bottle for pit crew and any other stuff that I can't seem to think of this moment.
Wheels: car only comes with 1 set of OZ Superleggera's 18x9's. Other rims have been sold.
I can certainly include an open trailer. 16ft dovetail. Hubs rebuilt and tires replaced within the last year. Homemade tire rack that will carry two sets of wheels (18x9's). Tandem axle with brakes on single axle. I can include the trailer for an additional $1000.
Mid Ohio times: my best time was a 1:37.5 (this was on dumpster slicks...actually a mismatched set of Dunlops and Yok's lol)
The thing about Mid Ohio, it was my first time, I was on crappy tires and didn't get the low speed bump setting made on the front dampers until just before the enduro.
Mid Ohio was more of a shake out kind of event considering the transformation with suspension and engine (cams/dme).
BTW, I guess it was the chicane setup!? Assuming that the chicane is on the front straight...that's the configuration we ran.
Also, if you need a tow vehicle:
2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab Laramie Dually. Khaki beige with matching beige leather interior. 4x4, Cummins Diesel engine, tow package, chrome package, sunroof, power front seats, infinity sound system with blue tooth, sirius satellite radio, single disk cd, Dodge Ram Bed Rug. 12k miles. Excellent condition. Only towed with the vehicle 2 times.
$39,000
