So my daughter decides she wants to take some night shots on my DSLR tonight and I agree. I get to pick the subject and give her a hint here and there and this is what she comes up with.
She even picked the location and content (lights on or off, windows up or down, where to park, and what not.)
Contrary to popular belief, the E46 in fact parks in God's Garage.

Especially in the states, the lack of real futbol here is one of the main reasons I miss Germany + the rest of Europe so much

Your daughter did a great job with the shots. I've always liked the styiling of your car.
Reminds me of mine. CF trunk and hood +lm reps. But, i know... you have authentic wheels.

Nope, I have LM reps.
Thanks for the compliments. We are going to rename her spastic child at some point.

The guy who wrote the DIY is about a mile from my house and was supposed to go out shooting with me and my daughter last night.

Those are 6000K HID in the headlights and fogs and the interior lights are the DDM interior lighting kit.

Is it weird that I'm barley 19 and in college and saw the pic of your kid playing soccer and got kinda sad wishing I could go watch my offspring play soccer. Then I realized I'm 19 and in college and I don't want/need kids. I had this sudden maternal instinct and I'm a dude. WTF. I need to go get drunk and bang a dumb broad. Get these parenting thoughts out of my head.

Wow she was shooting in manual mode too !!!!??? Thats awesome.
Guessing she was using a tripod right?
...Couple tips for her....
Night shots = LONG exposure.
Shooting at f10 makes the exposure longer then what it really needs to be. Try shooting at about f4-f8. This will give you a good Depth of field.
If you want less DOF (blurry background) then try going larger (smaller number) if you can.
Example my 70-200mm lens goes to f2.8, and my 50mm lens is f1.8..
Gosh thats so sweet!!!

All of the shots were taken with the kit lens on a D40. I noticed too that she was shooting at a higher F stop bit it was working out because she was shortening the exposure time itself.
I think she did well and had some success. It was her first time with long exposure low light shots. I will pass along your suggestions and if she listens great and if not, well, she is an 11 yr. old girl. Sometimes listening is a challenge.
