I purchased the car monday, and was at the track wednesday. Only mod being a K&N drop in.
First pass: 2.30 60' 1/8 9.1@80.5 1/413.9@101.2
Second : 2.30 60' 1/8 9.0@80.7 1/4 13.8@102.0
Third : 2.20 60' 1/8 8.9@81.7 1/4 13.6@102.0
Fourth : 2.14 60' 1/8 8.7@81.5 1/4 13.5@102.1

This was probably the best night of the year to hit up the track, no humidity and temp in the high 50's. I was hoping for better since I have seen magazines and online times of 13.0-13.2 @ 104-106mph. I am not a noob to drag racing but this is my first rwd car. Even with practice I dont think I could get much better of a time. Maybe 13.3 with a perfect 60' but I cant do anything about the low mph.

This is a 6spd on OEM 19's.

I purchased the car with the intention of turboing it. With a custom setup. Dont know when my funds will support it so for now spray/intake/exhaust. I tried dynoing it for a baseline but even after reading on the forums I could not find a way to get it past 6500. I think it made 254 @ 6500, dont know if that is low for these car's.

My 212rwhp M coupe has trapped 102mph before and in hot and humid weather. Something is amiss I think. I would expect you to run a 13.3 with no problem. Maybe you need some maintenance done like fuell filter, sparks plugs, clean your maf, etc.

I can't get on youtube at work so I can't see the vid, but I am willing to bet that you can get a better 60ft than a 2.1. Even still, once you take it down a couple more times I bet you will at least drop into the 13.4's or better. Just need to get better aquainted with the car is all and there is nothing wrong with that.

Those are that bad... and there a lot more w/ a good short time. I thought stock m3 only ran mid 13's??

The 6500 limit was in place on the dyno due to the wheel speed sensors. On the track I was shifting just before 8krpm.

Im thinking maybe the cars going faster with higher mph may be on 18's with no sunroof or navi. Maybe my car weighs more? If not it's just a factory turd.

You need to play with your tire pressure.

don't feel so bad. E46 M3 at the track when I went was trapping 14.2. It was a vert though.

Hooking up on the 19's is damn near impossible, even compared to the 18's from what i've seen. Your trap is scary low though. I'd look into some maintenance or a valve adjustment that you may need.

Trap speed is too low. Figure out what (if anything) is wrong with the car. Check the maintenance history etc.

Figure out how to properly dyno an M3 and re- do yours.

clean the maf sensor, take that pos k&n out and put in a bmc, reset battery and go.

I have yet to dyno the car. I did do a compression test though and it was 170-171 across. I think it may be down on power due to a bad catalytic converter. Hope to get an EBAY header on there soon.

what's the weight of your car? If you have a decent amount of weight reduction then that would explain it, otherwise you have a freak.

Ya 102 is pathetic I know. It is discouraging me from modding the car.

Go to the track again, you never know.... the timing system could have been @#$% up. 13.5 is a decent et, dont give up on the car!

A friend of mine has an 05 zcp with full exhaust and intake and he only managed a 13.3/4. he also had those 19's and is smg, I'm not sure what the problem is.....

also im havin the same issue in a sort of way im happy with my ET but my trap feels low 13.0 at 105 :/

my buddy was traping about the same in the 1/8 last night. his is a 04 m3 with ebay headers and that is it. remeber down here in florida we have a lot more humidity than most places and that will also play a factor.

I have an 04 6spd No navi on 18's. Best run on pilot sport summer tires, 39psi was 13.1 at stock PSI. I think I was trapping at 108 or 110. I dug up the time slip to check the numbers but it had bleached out to look like a blank reciept? I will go again once the track opens back up..

with what mods? to my knowledge there isn't a stock e46 M3 that has trapped 108mph, let alone 110mph.

I'm willing to bet that once you get used to the car you could shave another couple tenths atleast.

clean the maf sensor, take that pos k&n out and put in a bmc, reset battery and go.

What will reseting the battery do? I'm not being sarcastic.

I agree, reset dme by leaving battery d/c for a while, then drive it hard.

You did a lot better than an active sc'ed e46m3 and thier prototype pile E90 M3 SC'ed...all high 14's.
