I see a few Leather E36 seats for sale regularly and wondered if they will fit in an E34? Custom mounts?
I am one of the few guys here with stock cloth buckets and am considering an upgrade.

Its been done before, I know Bin has e36 vaders in his car. I'm sure its just a matter of custom mounts at most.
You'll have to wack off the hooks on the floor then bolt them in.
Then you'll stuck with e36 seats.

That's what I wanted to know. I guess I'll wait for something that fits and is better looking. (Don't really want anything out of an E36 in my vehicle)

Not sure yet. Interior and seats are near perfect but, given where I live, a nice leather interior won't be uncomfortable in the summer.

If the seats in your picture are the ones in question I can tell you it's not a direct bolt in as they look to mount with bolts in front rather than the hooks our E34s use.
The upholstery looks like it would be right at home though so I'd say go for it, how hard can it be to screw down a couple of seats?
A black leather back seat should be easy to find as everyone is always looking for front seats and the backs go to the trash half the time.

You'll have to wack off.
Keepin' it classy :D

Way serious. Leather is supposed to be the greatest thing ever, but it's WAY cold on cold days, and WAAAAAAY hot on hot days. If you wear shorts you stick to it... I wish I could find cloth skins for my vaders.

The seats are too long and the front bolt holes don't line up with anything. The e36 seat rails are about 4 to 6 inches longer than the e34 rails, so when you cut the hooks off and stick the seats in they hang out in the air past the structural support the e34 hooks are welded to. You need to make extension brackets.

why not look for e32 seats? probably easier to find and nobody wants em.
as much as i like how leather looks, for all around comfort i'll take cloth any day. leather as a seating surface on pretty stupid, it's the worst of all worlds. hot in the summer, cold in winter, slippery for spiritied driving, high maintenance, expensive. marketing at it's finest once again.
