Hey guys

Is there a difference between a sport and a standard rear sway bar in a 525i

Thanks

Yes.

Regular sway bar diameter = 13mm
Sport sway bar diameter = 14mm

Sorry to revive this but.

Do sport sway bars have any sale relevance or are people mainly looking at M bars.

I offered my sport rear bar for sale. Had an offer for $30 from Craigslist but I didn't want to drive an hour to sell it.

Since the stiffness is exponential and not linear increase, even 1 mm makes a difference. I personally went with a used M5 rear bar for $60 shipped for my non-Sport 528i, but a Sport bar priced cheap enough should be worth the installation time for a DIYer.

I tried selling a 15mm 540 sport bar (compatible with all models) and got zero bites until the price was at a whopping $20. I have seen other 15mm bars go for as much as $35 shipped. Honestly at that price it wasn't worth going out of my way to sell it so I kept it on the shelf. If/when I sell the car then I can put it back to stock and sell the M5 bar. Maybe.

Ok, Ya i completely forgot about that bar till I started looking for my OEM airbox to put back on my car.

And then I remembered that I made a thread about the bar and I bought an M5 bar for 75 dollars.

I guess I can though it up on craigslist and see what happens.

Thanks for the prices and stuff,
Marc
