O.k., here's the deal, my car does not have cold weather package, no heated seats, steering wheel, etc... i have a heated steering wheel lying around, how can i wire this up to heat in my car? is it possible? just add a switch from 12v source? Any help or ideas are appreciated.

My idea...

Put in an alcantara-wrapped, tri-color stitched wheel with paddle shifters into your 5er:

From what I have researched, its a plug and play but you wound need a different slip ring. Which makes it NOT worth for me, although if you drive the car in the winter this option is so nice

really a different slip ring to go from a 4 spoke wheel to basically the same wheel but heated?

realoem lists different part number slip rings for heated/non heated. it actually specifies "for heated steering wheel". I think its because of the wiring

I wish...:(

Why? Because that's pretty much the baddest, most freshest OEM steering wheel setup an e39 can get.

I love how the heated steering wheel and seat questions come up when it gets cold out!

Here is all the info you will need. I use mine everyday now.
