I have done extensive searching and found a way to remove the cabin filter without removing the glovebox on the 3series. As such I realized this method does not work on my car. Do you know how to remove the cabin filter in a easy fashion?

It took me 20 minutes to replace my filter. After that, the A/C was much more efficient.

Thank God it's only recomended to do it twice a year. LOL I think some manuals had a typo that said every 20 years.

haha mine looked just like that.
One of my best upgrades to date!i never knew my ac/heater was so awesome!
pelican parts also has a write up.
hardest part for me was taking off the plastic cover to get to the filter. other then that removing the glove box and such was fairly easy.

Hey guys, dumb question but where can I get a replacement filter? Dealer? Or should a place like Autozone have it? I've never gone to the dealer for a new part before.

I bought mine from bimmerspecialists dot net was not to bad...maybe 11 bucks or so. Pelican bavauto most of the others will have. You just have to think about shipping costs. I ordered air filter, oil filters, etc to make it worth the time/cost.

Alright, just wasn't sure if the dealer would still have parts going this far back. Good to know. There is on about 5 minutes from me so I'll be getting that tomorrow.

I was surprised my dealer had some parts for my car. However, since I have an M50 powered E34 some engine parts are shared with E36's and E39's.

Installing it is the easy part. It just takes me forever to wanna go out and get the part. I've got no free time these days.

HOLY SHIT!!! I just changed mine and am convinced that it, just like the fuel filter I recently changed, was the original cabin filter put in the car in April of 1991. It was solid black. My airflow is day and night difference.
