well, it doesn't look like there are any available in the country, and they have 14 in germany. cost from the dealer is about $1800, with a $400 core charge.
if i can get one, i can get it for about $1400
and i believe the warranty is 2 years, i'm not positive though

You da bomb!
I got the same response on the 14 units in Germany & around $1750 on the pricing, but no one mentioned anything about the Core Exchange.
Let me touch base with my dad as it is for his car. I need to verify the time frame for him to get this amount together. He's on fixed income & one of the reasons I posted to see if I could find a better deal.
What's the turn time on shipping, around 2 weeks?

if i am able to get this, it is usually about 3 weeks to get here, however sometimes if there is low quantity (like this one) they don't let employees order them, i can probably find out by tomorrow, and i'll let you know

I have a good/used one available for $100. PM or email me through the board if you'd like to discuss it...
(PS -- My 8's also eaten one of these, fairly common problem these days)

ok, i looked into it, and since there are none in the country, i can not order it through the employee program. you can still get it from a dealer, it will take about 2-3 weeks most likely, and with cost about $1800, plus the $400 core charge.
sorry i couldn't help.

Thanks, got busy at work & got behind on following up on the posts. Appreciate the offer. I may end up going used depending on my dad's cash situation. I'll let everyone know shortly. I know he'd prefer spending a $100 vs. $1400, but the advantage to the $1400 is the warranty.
I'm finding out that it is a common issue. I can understand it as hot as this cars get & when the get less use, the seals can fail pretyy quick.
I think it got caught in my spam filter, I'll check it tonight.

No problem! At least you tried & you've provided more information to me then anyone else so far. I appreciate you looking into this for me.
