Ive been in that crowd for the greater part of 8 years. Through the years ive never seen so many haters in my life. And sadly that is what is tearing that group apart, and it gets worse every "season". So upon changing my life a bit, that was one major thing that needed to be changed. Pretty bad when your 27 and have a 1/4 life crisis lol.

Well ive always loved the stying of the mid to late 90's. To me even though they are more of a rigid boxy appearance to me they look Sexy. After a few weeks of looking around locally there was nothing to be seen, so i jumped on here and lurked around and found a few i like. After looking at insurance, Im gearing towards a mid 90s M3 (95-96). There is one for sale on Columbus on here that is in the perfect price range for me. i know im not goin to get a low miles BMW cheap. But there are a lot of great deals that i never knew were our there!! blame that on honda syndrome. Clean, Un-molested, and kept up well.

Welcome! Beware however, once you drive a BMW, it will be hard going to anything else!
An E36 M3 would be perfect for you. They are relatively fast in a straight line. They handle like a dream even when stock. They are at some of their lowest prices ever due to the state of the economy. If they were well maintained, they will be reliable well into the 200k mile range. Easy to work on, maybe not Japanese easy, but you will be able to make it through most problems. There is a plethora of sources here on bimmerforums and most members are respectful and always willing to help!:)
Anything you need to know, just ask, and you will be more than likely to receive multiple responses.

well comeing from the likes of hater tech, this forum is such a breath of fresh air. The one i was referring to, is the Estoril Blue M3 with 150k miles on them. My beleive is if a car is maintained well and isnt beating to craps end, cars will last a long time. I just learned that BMW's can and will last into the 300k mark, and to me seeing how im moving into this direction makes me feel better getting into a car with 100+k miles on them.
Ive done motor swaps and the like. But a lot of people warn me that BMW parts are super expensive. But like i said, i feel now is the time that i get into something that i wont have a feeling being mocked, or just harrassed. I want the softer side of life now lol

u can go with the E30 (1981-1991) or the E36 (1990/1 - 2000). Both good cars. And if u have the resources..an E30 with an engine swap. ;)
Either way...both are good cars and once u own one u'll want to own a few more.

Welcome! That is a nice looking civic. Most people won't give you trouble for it, like that first guy suggested. Civics are great cars, when you get down to it, and most people here know that.
Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the compliments on the civics. In a turn for the best both my cars sold and are gone in today. So now im currently with out a car lol. So im frantically but in the same sence taking my time in looking at finding a M3 that best suits me. Im kinda looking for a mostly stock car. no engine mods, but im thinking that exhaust and suspension is goin to be hard to not see on them :) which is fine. just looking for a stock motored M3. So in the coming few days i hope to be have a few to select from. Plan is to look at, test drive and seal the deal soon. Being with out a car and trying to get to work sucks.

You will love the M3 man. I would look at a 96 or newer personally because of the updated engine? As long as you do the stuff yourself it costs no more than any other car. Rarely do you have to buy an actual BMW part, but when you do that seems to be pricy.

I guess the main question right now is how reliable are the M3's themselves. So far that ive seen, many people use their as they wouldnt any other car. Its just my main concern right now to get a car that im not goin to have to put a lot work into it.. cough cough like the civic cough cough. i understand i should get what i want, but your personal opinions should i roll out for the m3 or grab another model?
