heater controls under hood???? valve???

Have a 2000 540, there are 3 heater hose ports coming out of the firewall, where and what do each do? in? out? Also the control valve/solenoid thing....what does it do? what hose goes where? what is in and what is out?

I have an LS1 in place and trying to hook it all up and make it work.

Honestly I haven't looked at mine that closely, but good idea with the LS1...

Do you mean #8, #9, and #12?
