Hello guys, bad news for us, the BMW CS Concept has been canceled.

http://www.bmwblog.com/2008/11/04/bmw-cs-concept-canceled/

"Last night, we got word that the one of the most awaited BMW cars, the CS Concept, has been canceled due to the financial crisis Europe and U.S is facing. In a press conference, BMW’s CEO, Mr Reithofer, confirmed that there will not be a series model of Concept CS”.
The CS has been rumored to be the next BMW flagship which might have replaced the discontinued 8 Series. The BMW CS Concept (http://www.bmwblog.com/2008/03/19/new-york-auto-show-bmw-cs-concept-and-other-exciting-models/) made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show back in 2007 and it was one of the BMW’s most acclaimed concepts. Bimmer fans and car lovers were thrilled with the innovation and the plans BMW had for their new car.
The first rumors that the Concept will make into production surfaced in September 2007 and it was confirmed at that time by BMW’s CEO himself.
Obviously, the recent decline in sales and the financial crisis has everything with to do with BMW’s plans to nix the CS Concept, but as a BMW fan, I can only hope that sometimes in the future, the car will make its way into the production lines."

No biggie. Focus on making the core cars lighter and more driver involved, not in low-production halo cars that the US probably wouldn't even see.

Good. I don't want to see the 8-series name spoiled ;)

The current worldwide economic climate has claimed yet another automotive casualty: the BMW Concept CS (http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/21/production-take-on-bmw-cs-concept-likely/). The German automaker cites a distinct lack of profitability as the main reason the CS project has been canceled.

the car would have been the start of a new world order for bmw maybe the future will tell whether enough noise has been created to introduce such an aggressive model to the line up

ot you have to be as strong as samson to drive that thing like that. um with an e46 as a mud flap too wow, what track are you at

Not exactly the most economical car. It's not really a mystery why they'd suspend development of it right now, at the very least.

sounds good. theres a few design themes that might have carried over well to some other cars though.

Well I am not so sure. They already canceled the M3 CSL, now this, it seems a direction towards cutting down on niche markets and focusing on models with more widespread appeal. Can't blame them given the current world economic situation, but from an enthusiast's perspective, I think that's such a shame.

It is a nice CAR, but not a nice "BMW" but guys what happened to the BMW look. What happen to the BMW Passion. what is this boring dull look of the new BMW E90s. BMW took the spirit of BMW. I'm driving 2000 323i i would imagine my self driving all types until the late e46 but i would never imagine myself driving one of those e90. Sorry but that is my opinion and I'm sure many of you agree.
