I have my 2007 328i coupe. I took my car to the dealer for a service as there was a service due on that date. I really didn't had any problems with the car to complain for. But since the car does come with the warranty and my warranty still exists with it what more should I ask the dealer? Like, can i get anything replaced or anything get cleaned like the filters .etc..

Long story short whats the ideal thing to ask the dealer to get it done when you take the car to him? ( car is under warranty period)

Thank you all

Ask for whats wrong with the car lol, if nothing is wrong dont ask for anything.

As soon as u start complaining about b/s stuff the car will be "molested" and never be the same. Wait until the car is about to go out of warranty to get everything covered.

They will replace what needs to be replaced as indicated by CBS. The only thing you can really ask is whether to wash or not wash the car. The rest they should automatically do.

I heard that brakes are covered under the 50,000 warranty. Anyone here yet need to request that of the dealer?

Not me personally, but several on this forum have had the brakes changed under warranty. Several.

You can ask for anything...the don't fix what isn't broken. And why even think of things. All the maintenance is scheduled and tracked by the car. Unless something is wrong they'll do what is needed.

Only because they had a demonstrable issue.

ive been changing brakes on the E9x vehicles from squeaking at approximately 8k miles and up... Ive been changing them for being work out at 12k and up... All depends on driving habits but yes brakes are covered in the Maintenence package only when the CBS data says they are due.

Ask for wiper blades. They do NOT replace those unless requested to do so (cost savings). Its always nice to have new wiper blades, especially as we head into the colder months.

I think the "molestation" is dealer dependant. The dealer here in Stuttgart is AWESOME and the real deal germans working on your car are much much better than those Chrysler rejects that say they are BMW experts. Yea they say they go to some school.....

Interesting since Chrysler was Mercedes and not BWM...but at least you think that Germans are good mechanics. Now only if most of the German cars weren't listed low in reliability :)

Maybe they like to keep those "highly-qualified" German mechanics in business. It is a conspiracy I tell ya :rolleyes.

*Of course I am joking here. I always feel obliged to give out a disclaimer since someone is bound to argue a joke*

If you have any driveability problems, it is best to say so when you take it in for service. The mechs where I work will not "fix" anything unless they are paid to do it and have to put it down on the work order should they find something defective/worn that is safety related. If you have an interior part that is peeling (common) or anything else cosmetic, they will not mention it. It is a full warranty for 50K, so if you feel there is a problem, you should mention it so the dealer can start tracking it. If it becomes an issue later, at least you have it on record you mentioned it that might get them to fix it no charge if the car goes out of warranty when something fails.

This guy is completely correct. We are not allowed to fix anything that isnt "complained" about unless there is a line on the repair order or it is a safety issue.

I am going to push very hard to get my brakes/rotors replaced/resurfaced before my warranty is up in August 09'. I have heard it is very expensive to get the brakes serviced out of pocket.

Only if you go through the dealer. There are places that sell oem parts at half price and then you can have a trusted mechanic or friend replace them for you. If you do it right it should be half of what a dealer charges.
