2002 530i - My windshield molding is badly cracked and needs replacement. I wanted to know if there was a DIY artcle on how to replce one. Is this something that a professional needs to do or can anyone do it?

Thanks in Advance

No, You do not need to take out the windshield to install a new molding.;)
Here is a link in how to do it without removing the front windshield.:)

Very simple install. Took me approximately 25 minutes. Peel Old, Install New.

Just take your time and be careful so you don't accidentally break your windshield(ask me how I know:mad)

it's cake, I did my rear one at the same time as it was cracking as well.

how? :rolleyes

Cracked the corner of the windshield while setting the passenger side corner of the new molding down in the groove with the heal of my hand. It was probably an issue of the way it was glued but one should still be cautious and take your time especially around the corners.
