I have a 2002 530d (E39). The car had an intermitent fault which has now become permanent. I also have a 2000 530d which previously had the same intermitent fault but has now disappeared. I'm baffled...
1. The CD player does not work, but the radio is fine. The digital clock on the radio display is not showing. The audio control function on the LHS of the steering wheel do not respond at all.
2. The air-flow selection switch on the RHS of the steering wheel does not work, but the Cruise-Control functions on the RHS are all fine.
3. The front and rear parking sensors do not respond.
4. The reversing lights do not work.
5. The dash warning lights for Main-Beam, Turn-Signal and Fog-lights do not respond; although the lights externally are actually working.
6. The dash 'graphic' display for doors-open and bulb-failure warning does not show at all.
All six failures noted above occur simultaneously. I suspect there may be a common module which talks to the K-bus, but I cannot find any literature to detail this.
The car runs trouble free otherwise.
Anyone got any ideas???
