Currently have 115,502 miles as of this morning. Hope to take it up to 400K miles with preventive maintenance. :)

I saw a e39 520iA at my indy, 480,600km.
Currently rebuilding the engine from excessive oil consumption....heard it was 1L of oil every 1000km....
Does that count as the highest mileage?

300K miles certainly counts as high. 520i? I guess you guys were "blessed" with a 2L engine? 1L of oil every 625 miles seems a bit much, even for 300k miles. Someone didn't maintain their engine very well.

How come not many "Who has the least miles on their E39?"
Because those E39 owners are "from a different generation" and have no idea how to use a computer. If you were to say "Forum" to them they instantly think the Forum in Rome. As in, Roman Empire...........

How about people post their total mileage and average per year according to model. If you have a higher average than the highest post, post yours, if not, don't post.

Pretty low for me. I just bought my 2001 530i with only 55k on the clock. My last two cars were an Accord and Toyota pickup, so I expect the same 300k repair free miles.....
Knock on wood, I have two friends who are BMW dealer techs, and they say the 6cyl E39 and E36 are by far the most reliable cars BMW makes.

dude...i don’t know...m62 is bullet proof...I'd say to some one who said that to read a book...must have been an M3 driver...;p my car is running strong! no problems but an ignition coil went out..

I've got you by a few. Just rolled 251,429 on my '98 528i. That's just after hitting 200k last September I think. Only downside is all the road chips on my front bumper and hood.:shifty
