This is all 1/8 mile stuff but look at the trap speed and ETs... then look at "engine" displacement. Look at how the supra motor Scion did! 186 cubic inches against motors 2, 3, 4 times as large! And those big motors are running blowers and 3+ stages of nitrous. Insanity.

http://www.adrl.us/_EE/images/uploads/File/tn_DSC_4956.JPG

Gary White ran a best of 4.101 @ 174.91

Here are other specs of that run:

.975-2.689-4.101
.975 to the 60 foot
2.689 to the 330

.... 0.975 60 foot time... insanity.

Yeah whoops blowers or nitrous...

I think nitrous has the advantage over a blower though!

You seem surprised Jon. Titan rattled the cage that is 10.5 outlse when they came in mid season last year and plowed to the head of the pack in the first race. At first everyone hated them but now they're accepted as one of the group. I think this is because of how well sorted of a team they are and truely are good people from what I have heard.

no way as in....the nitrous > blower car?

blower cars are usually much faster than nitrous cars.

This is true. Look at the Pro Mods... nitrous cars struggle...

I think they're both fast as shit - nitrous cars seem to hold their own. The amount of nitrous that goes thru those things is insane.

I'd personally take either for xmas :)

Some of those motor are over 13.4 liters and they got beat from a turbo'ed 3.0 liter. I am guessing suspension has a tons of factors for putting down a good time.

Can anyone inform me on weight differances between a Big turbo'ed 2JZ and a Chevy 13.4L V8?

The trap speeds tell you how much power each setup is making. 820 cubic inches is struggling to hold off a 3.4 litre 2JZ with a big pump on it. Gotta love technology!

That is defininately impressive what Titan is doing with such a small motor........

Ha Ha.....Number 1 Steve Kirk's shop is merely a few miles from me.... he seems to never have a shortage of funds.........questionable !!!!!

nitrous cars seem to hold their own

in promod....

nitrous = 6.40's

blower = 6.20's

granted there are exceptions but nitrous motors struggle big time..not to say the blower motor guys dont also. Right JT?? -recalls chet and steve- two ends of the spectrum...both struggling in their own classes.....one blower....one big nitrous huffer....lots of pistons. lol

seriousy blowers had the advantage untill the 890ci nos motor got worked out. Blower cars are roughly 528 cid. Turbo cars are around 440 cid but make so much power that they can't get enough traction on boost and TOO much traction when spooling up. We are selling our 706" nos motor and bought a 436 twin turbo small block for next year. This is for the pro mod willys I built. I got hair driers all over the place WTF! LOL ///J.T.///

I guess it depends on who you're friends with - the guy that does our motors owns http://www.precisionnitroustechnologies.com/ and the amount of nitrous and stages and progressive control they have make way more sense in terms of getting power down than do blowers. Just sayin. I'd rather have a turbo motor over both, but I think it comes down to driver and technology and the amount that the team understands their setup.

Turbo > supercharger > nitrous. All you have to do is look at the rules (engine capacity limits) to tell you all you need to know.

I like where the sport is heading with twin turbo small blocks (and big blocks), all we need now is to ban bleeders!

I all we need now is to ban bleeders! That is where we agree to disagree. We are puting a lencodrive in the car too. The only bleeding will be the competition in my book. You must have had a bad childhood experience with an errant hydraulic trans. LOL The ones we use arn't automatic anymore. The converter slips just like a racing clutch and we still shift it. LOL ///J.T.///

Five speed manual tranny, slipper clutch, four changes by half track. That's real racing ;-)

Titan is a first rate group of guys. They have never hesitated to lend us a hand at the track. Every time we get a supra project we end up calling them at least once. haha.

The car now holds the record at 4.101 as well :)

Thanks for the kind words guys, it's been a while since I've posted here. We're big BMW fans at Titan, Nero just got a E92 M3, Bottle a 335i, and my fiance has a E46 M3. We road course all 3 cars whenever we have a break in the schedule (which unfortunately isn't often enough)

Nice to know some of the Titan crew share the same love we all do. To let you know, alot of us look up to your company and team. Not only due to the amazing cars you produce but more so the model you portray as a team. Much respect to you all.

It takes alot of ambition and mainly GUTS to jump into a very tight knit group like 10.5 outlaw, especially being an import car. I can only imagine hwo this was recieved in the beginning. The fact that you gained such a following and overall respect in 10.5 SOOOO quickly as complete n00b team in the series and blasting to the head of the pack. Is a true reflection of how good what you have put together is.

You guys got something special, and alot of people are taking notice. :)

Thank you, we run our operations just like our race team. Many don't see a corelation, but if you can make a little chasis car with a 186ci engine compete with blown 700+ci engines on 10.5s, you can make just about any car fast with some time invested. In the next 2-3 years you can expect more time devoted towards building fast street Porsches and BMW for both the drag strip and road course, just need more time to do things correctly.

A couple of dollars and some hours of R&D doesn't hurt either :-)
