Nope, no regrets. In fact I am on # 2...I just swapped out the 2007 for a 2009 today. I am very happy with this engine and car. The 09 is leaps and bounds better than the 07. The I-drive and heated steering wheel with the cold weather package are wonderful. The new face lift on the E90 is so hot. I am grinning from ear to ear.:buttrock

My only regret is not having a longer drive to work. I love everything about this fine piece of "German Engineering."

No regrets. Sometimes I do miss my old car in the winter when there is a lot of snow on the ground.
Sometimes I regret spending the money, probably could have got something cheaper that would have made me *almost* as happy.
But then again it is a kick ass ride

Even with my 2.0 E93, NO REGRETS! Perhaps I should have gove with the Saddle Brown instead of letting my wife pick the beige Dakota? But I was totally satified in getting a BMW alone. lol

Occasionally when I have to make a payment or fill it up with gas (which is getting better with the prices dropping) I have, but then when I get back in and drive her, nope, none at all :D
Best of luck! Look forward to seeing/hearing about what you get!

Isn't that 10 years from now?
My advice is get rid of all your credit cards and buy a house before you buy an expensive car :)

I think he was asking for advice on the car not life or financial decisions...

Actually he was just asking a general question about cars, and I gave him real advice on cars.
Unless he went to some school that was free, most student loans are paid over 10 years at least, which means he just graduated and hasn't even started paying.

I think that is a specific question about a 335.

My only regret is that I did not get the sport package so that I would have received the aux oil cooler. When I ordered mine in DEC 2006 that information was very vague and once I got the car it was known that the car didn't come with the aux oil cooler.
I didn't order it because I hate the sport seats but in retrospect if I had I would have had no problem swapping them out for the stock seats which fit me much better.
Issues with my car, none to speak of. It is not an M3 and I don't drive it like my M3 but it is so quiet for a convertible and nice with the top down that I feel blessed when we have days like today in Florida....

I regret not loading it up with all the available options. In retrospect, I would have done that. However, I don't really like my car as a daily driver.

>15K is not a few $$ ;), but I hear ya. I am salivating for an e90 M3, but don't think that will happen any time soon. Too much $$ for me to justify even for such a fine machine. Maybe if the economy picks up, or pigs fly, whichever comes first (I am hoping pigs will evolve faster:help).

For me, it's not a matter of justifying, but simply wanting it..
Or for some more $$$, a Maserati coupe...:D:D:D

Yes Dad/Den Mother. MrY makes a good point, as usual.
In addition, Beer Goggles offered decent advice -- Don't try to be a baller, learn from other's mistakes (think Ed McMahon or DMX, both broke).
Warning: Don't be like me and try to become a BMW enthusiast without a solid career, or a home to live in of your own. And, really, don't try to buy a second E9x before you pay off the first. Certainly don't get yourself a nice watch or a flat screen tv before you get winter wheels/tires!
Regrets:
1. Not getting wheel and tire insurance on my E92
2. Not rolling more accessories/options into the purchase price of my vehicle (all the little things I want -- intake, exhaust, upgraded brakes, SIRIUS Radio) are things that I can't really afford -- BUT it is a lot cheaper and more practical to get them installed at the factory than at the dealer.
3. Not asking more girls if they want to ride in the passenger seat.

Widower, house, car all paid for.
I'm 73 and this is probably my last chance at really having car fun again.
I chose the 328i because a bigger, faster car will only get me in trouble with the law...really don't want that...too pragmatic I guess.....
With the BMW, there are dealerships all across the country, so I can travel with close backup should the car malfunction.
Not so with a Maserati.....:(:(:(

love everything about it except the runflat tires. Everyone that rides with me notices how stiff and loud they are. When I put normal tires on the car is that much better. Can't wait for the runflats to wear out and switch to normal ones. These tires are truly made for perfect road surfaces and a little road imperfection feels like hitting a major pothole.

Non RFTs are much nicer and you don't get the TCS blinking at you at every corner.

If I have any, then I guess it would be the color. Sometimes I wish I went with Alpine White or Barrique Red (which is pretty rare).

I have myself an '07 335i and have no regrets despite the issues (i.e. squealing, no oil cooler, blown door handles) that people post. While they are minor inconveniences, the uncompromising presence and driving experience makes it well worth it.
Make sure you pay those loans off soon so you can grab you one.

i agree. the RFTs have been a really big disappointment. :mad
everything else about the car is superb. i have encountered NO problems in 14k miles of use. love the BMW performance.

I like the peace of mind you get knowing you won't have to be fixing a flat at minus 30 in a blizzard or in the pouring rain but the set that came with the car are alreaay causing a lot of annoying road noise and I'll probably have to replace them in the spring when the snow tires come off.
The other regret is buying the tire and rim insurance as it only covers the stock tires and not the tires on the car. So if I run with my winter tires half the year, I'm not covered for half the year.

The only thing I regret is not getting BlueTooth on the car. It's insanely expensive to add after the fact. Loving the car otherwise.

I have very little regrets.
- tires wear too quickly (but was expected)
- love the i-Drive
- I wish I had gotten the integrated satelite radio option
- I hate that I have to pay $100+ for navigation updates
- It's really finicky compared to other cars I've owned and currently own. I need an alignment ($), the rear brakes are worn/squeeking (but it's free! for now), turn signal lamp needed to be replaced after about 300 miles.
- The wheels need to be cleaned of brake dust at least every other day or it's just way out of control.
- I lose traction too easily on hard launches/high boost starts or accelerating in corners - NEEDS an LSD!
Otherwise, I can handle those shortcomings. It's got way more power and agility than I even need. I hardly ever push it to its limits because it's always got more in reserve in both power and handling (with a modest tune). I know I could probably get better 0-60/1/4 mile times with the steptronic/auto, but I LOVE my manual. I have never regreted for a second the fact that I'm rowing my own gears, even in the heaviest SOCAL traffic.

An alignment is recommended once a year on these cars and as for navigation updates, no one gives them for free, even aftermarket GPS vendors. You get a free trial and then pay as you go. As for brake dust, it is part of the BMW experience :D.

BMW should include alignments in their "ultimate service" program if they're recommended every year. Seems like a really finicky car with lots of extra care required just to keep her on the road. I love the car, but sometimes it pisses me off that I've got to do some sort of maintenance on it all the time. As far as the Navigation updates... sure, other navigation systems (portable and otherwise) may require a fee for periodic updates, but what's our periodic map update cost? That's what I think is rediculous... and don't give me the "you gotta pay to play" crap. I paid quite a bit up front and I expect quality then and now for what I paid.
The regret I have is getting the 08 instead of the 09 328i, but $ 8,000 saving plus 1 % for 60 months is very hard to ignore. I should have get the sport package, I wanted the 17" wheels and the paddle shifters+lumber support, but $2600 more plus I live in Canada mean I needed to purchase a set of winter tires plus wheels for another $2700 is a lot to considerate. I hated thefeeling just get a new car but already an old model 08 Vs. 09, thats suck!

Today i picked up my 335xi - it is new to me but used - 3K on the clock.
Had to drive it home for about 180 miles.
I am amazed at the car
- intuitive
- handling incredible
- power - very addictive
Was worried about the iDrive - after 15 minutes you will have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers.
Still reading the manual and understanding the nuances - but i can honestly say this is the best vehicle I ever had!!

Now just imagine not loosing traction at all on hard launches/high boost starts or accelerating in corners .....XI BABY...and you are totally correct about the MT....just awesome...only thing I regret is getting the cold weather package instead of just the seat warmers...I hate the headlight washers spraying shit all over my car and I dont ski....love the seat warmers though

Yes, I got it from the dealer when I finalized the deal on the car. My daughter bought a new Acura this summer and the salesman there suggested that my insurance may not cover aftermarket wheels whereas hers does, so I checked it out my self. Sure enough, it only covers the stock wheels and tires that came with the car.

I love my automatic. I think the Auto Tranny on the 328xi is the best I've every driven. But you're correct, if you wanted a manual, you should have gotten a manual.
I gave up MT's after 25 years on one particular 2 hour long, trying morning commute through the Lincoln Tunnel into NYC :scream when I thought my left leg was going to fall off from clutching about a million times. I ride my 1982 Suzuki GS1100E or 2002 Harley Fatboy when I want to shift ;)

DO:
- get the sports package. I drove a loaner which did not have it and hated the ride, steering wheel, and front seats.
- get the cold weather package. Seat warmer is awesome warms up in like 30 seconds. Seats fold down for bigger payload.
- get the ipod interface as it is great.
- get idrive, you get more information about your car this way. I wish I did.
- get the tire/wheel protection if you get the 18" sport package. Trust me. I already used it within 3 months.
DON'T
- get the sirius sat as they are probably doing away with it shortly.
- get the manual, unless you plan on removing the CDV. Sucks driving with this around town. Removing CDV voids warranty. Not sure if 09's have this issue though.
