This has been running through my head a little bit.
I can no where near afford to repaint my car right now, but when the time comes I've put myself in a little predicament.
I am just not the biggest fan of Island green, but I have always been someone who thinks vehicles should stay their original color.
So I'd like some more outside input. Do you guys think original color, or just whatever's your favorite?

if you don't like green, then change it. it is not like you will be devaluing the car any as long as it is a quality job.

Yeah, if it was an M5 it would be a little bigger deal I would think, but really not for my car.
Really OT here but, barret jackson auction is on and some lucky people are getting some GREAT deals!

You can always get a similar green. Its not a big deal to change the color of the car but you will have to live with a green engine bay and door jams. You can even get those painted but its more work. Taking off the entire e34 door is not that bad. The wire connectors have disconnects on them and its pretty easy.

Yeah, when I do go about it, I have replacement doors that I will most likely be trading out so the door thing wouldn't be a big deal. However you bring up a good point in the engine bay..... hmmmm

Just cover or remove what you can in the engine bay and clean it, sand it,degrease it and try and color match with good quality spray paint or paint it black..
by the way, even new BMW's when you look under the hood the paint is not shiney or glossy at all, looks halfass done..
I think Im lucky since everything is black on my car so i wouldnt worry about door jambs or engine area..
If I ever repaint im doing something crazy like Yellow, that bright bmw M3 blue, estoril blue, violet, red or white with all of the racing stickers from the 80's !!!!!

Minus the stickers, that is something I seriously have been considering.
There is just so much win in this thread

Dakar yellow, any of the blues, British racing green, Daytona Violet. All of those would be awesome.

Keep Iceland Green. Any mediocre color change paintjob will cost $4k, and that's $4k that could be spent modding the crap out of that Iceland Green car.
Remove the window tint and just get a cheap spray on the roof. Will look much better.
They say geniuses pick green. You didn't pick it though, did you?

.......:confused No........:(
But green is my favorite color, I just feel like my car could be so much hotter in a different color, even the British Racing green.
So why do you say that about the tint? Do you just think it doesn't look good with the green?
O yeah, and what is the actual name, Island or Iceland green? Because I have seen it both ways, many times.

Your color is Iceland green.
BRG would be cool.
I'd do it.
On a side note, there is so much negativity and doucebaggery in this forum it's ridiculous. Seems to be going down hill lately.

Iceland Green looks really hot on Analog's car. NMP411 maybe a really good detail will bring back the love?

The amount of money you're going to spend to get your car a decent respray with color change is going to be a lot more than you'll spend to buy another e34 in the color you want. A color change with jams and under the hood will run you well above 5k. That's getting into low end e34 m5 money. One just sold near me for $6,500, and it was clean. Not that that's a reflection of the range of m5s, but it's enough to go out and buy damn near any e34 right now.

Meh... geniuses are idiots. Total lack of common sense. Green is fugly on a car.
