I have an 07 328i with about 19,000 miles on it. This year it has been to the dealer 5 different times (4 warranty maintenance). First was the oil change, a couple of months later coolant level low, a couple more months later Brake fluid and now for the Micro filter. It is nice to have this stuff taken care of, but very frustrating that every couple of months or so I have to take the time to take it in. I asked them if they couldn't take care of these things at the same time and was told they couldn't do it until the light comes on. Just wondering what is coming next and in how long??

In addition to the above, places of the interior are peeling. Drivers side door handle and by the glove box. Anyone experience this problem and is it covered by warranty?

If I could tell you that I'd be rich from short selling in this recent market. Your guess is as good as anyone. Except for scheduled maintenance, the rest is a crap shoot, many are lucky few are not. Most of the issues you mentioned don't really require a dealer trip to be honest, I mean it is very easy to top off your own fluids.

I know they could be done ourselves and they will be when the car is out of warranty. But they have to reset to turn the light off (atleast that's what they say) and don't want to risk voiding the warranty for not having them do it.

the coolant light will go off as soon there is enough coolant in teh system, no light to reset.

once your car is upgraded by software teh car will then put your services together. EX: you just had you microfilter replaced. it will not come back on unitl it is due with an oil change or brakefluid. BMW decided that this was a common problem and lengthen & shortened some of the intervals to where the customer could be lees in the dealer. you do not have to get teh brakefluid done as soon as teh light comes on. you can wait until you need oil chagne or something else. same goes for micro.

as far as the interior peeling. Every car does it, there is no problem. You only get it one time. If it peels again the dealer wil not replace it even if car is under warranty. It wil be on you./ i recommend that you wait until car is about to go out and than get it all replaced.

So the interior peeling is definitely covered one time under warranty? Because that is a bit annoying...I figured the dealership would not do anything about that and just classify that as "normal wear and tear".

Sorry, but what exactly is "interior peeling"? What specifically is "peeling?"

Let me try my best at explaining this. Right around the door handle used to pull the door shut in the interior, it seems like there is a thin plastic film covering the plastic portions of the door. That is "peeling" off in a patchy manner. Kind of hard to explain, can anyone do a better job than me?

The drivers side, where you pull the door closed, it is the interior color. It is plastic that has been coated with a thin layer of some material, that beige thin material is peeling off the plastic door handle. Same thing is happening on the glove box next to the drivers side seat, under the door that opens up, by the seat. That material is thicker and textured but is also peeling off.

the console is also bad about peeling where the e-brake is--on the edge.

What's next? Probably total engine failure.

I know exactly what you mean on the interior peeling. I have a 2006 325i and on the passenger door handle is where I see the peeling. My interior color is grey with black accents and on the door handle you can see small spots where the grey has sort of rubbed off to where you see black speckled spots. The spots are just the black plastic that is under the covering material. Is that what you mean in yours too? Because it is very annoying and I would love it if it is covered under warranty.

Yes, same problem. I called the dealer today. It is covered under the 4 year/50,000 mile warranty.

Dealer warranties are pretty good. Buy them coffee and donuts and you'll get what you want.
