Driving with my wife and grand kids i hear a loud bang  when I go to roll down my window to enjoy the cool front we just had blow into houston. Get home and take off the door panel :mad and see a broken piece of plastic in the window track. Is this called a slider? And is it a seperate piece that I can buy? Or do I need a whole new track with the piece built in. I could not find it on real oem. If I can figure out how to insert the photo, LOL.

TIA
I found it on realoem.
Is it hard to install for a novice?

Typically called the window regulator if I'm not mistaken.
The task becomes kinda tricky if the glass comes out of the track - other than that, it should be pretty straight forward.

no. slide the old one out, slide new one in, clip the bar in place and reinstall the retaining clip.
if you have ever taken a manual window crank off, it looks similar, horseshoe shaped wire clip.
you sure it is broken and not just popped off?
BTW check the window guide/rubber. when mine did it the window had gotten behind the rubber instead of riding in the channel.

Slider is definitely broken, the regulator moves fine no problems. Just odd it broke off coming down. Must have a held the button too long when rolled up I guess and stressed it. Oh well. Thanks for responses.

they are on ebay but are cheaper at the dealer. I paid a buck each for them at my local dealer. Do yourself a favour and replace both now that you have the door panel off. also check / lubricate the lock mechanism too.

I spoke with a local dealer this am and found them for $2.90 each. The parts guy informed there are two of them on the window even though I only noticed the one broken on the rear regulator arm, so I will buy them both and figure out the install. Now, if I could only get my stuck closed glovebox open, I would be good !! :help

You can get to the glovebox latch by going through the air bag compartment above it.
Remove the air bag assembly box and you'll see the latch prongs - simply squeeze them together and the glovebox should open.

DOH ! Excellent! Thanks very much. I was so frustrated after replacing the cabin filter and then finding I had somehow jammed the glovebox when finishing up. Arggghhhh.
