and now the temp reads higher. With the original cluster, temp is steady in the middle, with the 92, it goes past middle.
Is there a different CTS between the 2 years?

A lot of things changed on the clusters between years. I don't think water temp would be one, but maybe?

Dude...the e34 has mutiple models, engines, and changes between 1989-1995...YOU GIVE NO INFO ABOUT YOUR CAR.

I'ts difficult to make comments about a car and model we know nothing about....help us out here...help us help you better...leave car model & model year. Better yet, create a signature that has that info in it so that it's readily available to anyone trying to respond to your posts.

You either have a 1990 or a 1994 given the fact that you said there was 2 years difference between your car and the 1992 cluster you installed. :dunno

Were the backing plates of the clusters the same color (blue/white)?

Sorry about that. Made a sig and hopefully it shows up. 95 525iT but build date is 12/94.
IIRC has a blue/white backing.

I think he means...did the one you took out have the same color back as the one you put in?
