So my 2009 335xi coupe is getting delivered mid next month. I originally ordered it with a roofrack, and I'll probably take it off when it's not ski season anyways. I'm wondering though if a snowboard (or two for that matter) would fit in the back with the seats folded down? If so I may just not get the roof rack and do that instead.

If they're not too long they will fit just fine with the seats folded down. I've fitted boards inside a sedan before (no fold down seats) and they were fine.
Snowboard fit in my backseat without the seats folded down, but it chipped up the wood in the middle piece

I ride a 162. Do you think two boards that length would fit with the seats folded down, or would I just have to put them angled on the floor of the back seats with the seats up?

What size board do you ride? If mine would be hitting the center console, I could probably avoid chipping by putting a towel or something over them.

thats a little long, you would have to angle it, it would work. just wrap the edges so nothing hits. when you have a free moment, go outside and try to work it into the caar

Don't get my car until next month, or I would. I'll probably just stick with getting the roof rack, and just take off the roof rack when it's not ski season.

always make sure you secure it, or you have a high quality one. i went snowboarding with some friends last season, we put the boards on his roof rack, we secured and locked the rack. the thing broke while driving, we lost our boards :(
yeah a towel would have easily saved my car. I'm not a boarder, it was my girlfriend's so I can't tell you the size

I highly recommend the roof rack with snowboard attachment if you have a long board. It's definitely worth the peace of mind.

Yup that or a blanket which is what I'd used in the past.

I have a 162cm Head Damage and my Fisher Watea's are 192cm. Both fit in the car but the Watea's didn't fit in the ski bag. I have brushed aluminum trim, and it scratches easily. I recommend putting a towel down on the center console before putting anything in the car.
I have a rack system now, and use that. The ski bag is a pain to re pack.
