x5 tire sensor question?

Looking to purchase additional set of wheels and tires for 06 X5. (2 sets) Do additional tire sensors need to be purchased for the other set of wheels? If so, how do I reset the tire pressure sensor on the vehicle. Anyone know where to buy additional sensors.

Are you sure you have TPM sensors on your wheels?

Many 06 models used wheel speed sensors. If you have metal valve stems then you have TPM sensors, if you have rubber stems then they're wheel speed sensors.

If you do in fact have TPM sensors then you can get new sensors at several places such as tirerack.com or your local dealer.

I have 18" rims with rubber valve stems, so I guess I have wheel speed sensors. Does that mean I do not need anything? Can I just place the other set of rims on the car and reset the switch? Thanks for the good info.

Correct. If you have rubber stems then you don't need to replace anything in the wheel itself.
