Hey E9? guys,

I am normally not on bimmerforums (I am on other forums with my e36), but my mother recently purchased an alpine white 2006 328i coupe and I had a quick question for her. I have not seen her new car in person yet, but from pictures it looks beautiful (see below).

On to my quick question: She wants to get a euro plate up front. The car came with the US front license plate mount, but what is needed to mount a euro plate? Is there a kit or does it directly fit on? I am just asking because she will be the one installing it (since I am far away) and I want to make sure it's easy for her.

Also any suggestions for the best place with custom Euro plates?

On to the pictures as always :)

great looking car...if the euro plate doesnt fit, you can either have the dealer drill the holes into the bumper, or you can just drill the wholes in the plate so they line up with the current holes.

Cool - thanks! I know my mom is loving it so far. If I were there to do the work I would personally install it (I am DIYer all the way) and try and drill holes in the current plate mount hardware.

I assume there are people out there that have euro plates on these cars so I thought I would ask before we order anything. :)

This site has a lot of things you can do with your BMW. One of such is the European license plate 'mod' http://www.bimmian.com/EPH/92 (http://www.bimmian.com/EPH/92)

I want to get one for my E90, but at the price of $127 CAD I find it a bit $$.

Where do you get Euro plates? If I get one, would I get a ticket from a cop? I currently don't have a front license plate and have been lucky so far.

You can get Eruo plates from ebay or you can google "European plates".

You shouldn't get ticketed (don't quote me on this) if your province do not require a front plate.

Let me know if you decided to get the euro plate mount for your E90. I want to see how it looks like.

You can purchase a Europlate bracket from the dealer or if you go with one of our customized europlates, it will come with the holder that you drill into your front bumper to hold in place. The only issue is that you have to drill into the bumper for the holder to mount.

Another option is to just adhere the plate itself to the bumper using double sided tape. This is what BMW does when you euro deliver the car, it's a nice option to avoid the drill holes.

You get a Euro Plate for doing European Delivery. Sell your car immediately and do it the right way.

Your mom drives a 6-speed, that's awesome. Nice car!

On topic: The brackets that they sell for European plates have all sorts of holes in them for mounting; you should be able to remove the US bracket on the car and use the same holes for the Euro plate.
