Strange issue with 335i, need help

I took re-delivery of my 335i coupe w/steptronic auto trans today and have a strange problem. I got home, parked in the garage, turned the car off and noticed that the selector light next to the P (meaning the car is in Park) will not go out. I have tried everything, searched Google, the forums, the car's manual, etc. and cannot find any evidence of this issue. All electrics are off and I cannot figure out why that selector light will not go out.

Any ideas?

dont get me wrong, but can this be a standard feature? like illumination of some sort....

When you get out of the car, try closing the doors then locking the car, then look at the light through the windows from outside the car. Give it a good 2 mins or so, if its still on then you a problem.

It must be an illumination setting, as I checked this morning when I got up and it was out. I opened the door and all illumination came on, then went out after a few seconds, with the selector light next to the P staying lit. I checked again after a couple hours and it was out, so I guess it really isn't an issue.

Mine does the same thing. It will go out after several minutes. It is meant to illuminate.

Stays lit up for 16 minutes. Totally designed that way.
