View Full Version : Running Azenis backwards

Just wondering if anyone has done this.

I have a set in stock e30 size that I use for autoX only. I put them on, drive to the event, autoX, drive home, then remove them.

Anyway, I swap the tires around every event to equalize tire wear. I have Bilstein sports and BAvAuto springs so not too much neg camber.

Consequentially the outer part of the tread is wearing much faster than the inner portion. Is there anything wrong with having the shop unmount and flip the tires on the rims? Other than hydroplaning in the rain, which they would do anyway.
I'm just trying to milk out one more season before deciding to either get another set, go up a wheel size or go r-comp.

Go ahead and flip them. I've done it and had no issues at all. Standing water might be more of a problem, but Azenis were never a great rain tire anyway.

I have the the insides facing outside right now. I've ran them backwards before as well. This is all in the dry though. I also autox with them like that, and I didn't feel any difference.

it really does not matter if you flip your tires, except in the rain. i have done it on toyo ra1 with out any issues.

Thanks for the replies. I'll get this done before the next autoX.
