advice on refinishing Volk TE37

Can anyone give me some advice on where to go (So Cal/OC area) to refinish a set of white TE37 17x8? Some curb rash, nothing more. I want to refinish to either a polished finish, or if that's not possible, then a silver powder-coat. I called D2Technik (where they were purchased from), and they said something about Volks being difficult to refinish. Took it to a local rim shop that quoted me about $400 to clean up the curb damage and powder-coat, but they don't deal w/ Volks very much. Why are they any different from other rims that need refinishing from time to time? Thanks.

Have you tried Tru-Wheel located in North Hollywood?

They do alot of high end wheel repair...but im not sure about the TE-37s

By the way... i was thinkin of pickin up those rims...how do you like them on your E36?

Thanks for the info. I remembered a shop out in Hollywood, but couldn't remember the name. As for the TE37, I really like that they're one of the lightest, strongest rims around. I think the offset may be a bit off, because I get a tiny bit of rubbing at full crank of the steering wheel. I'm running 235/40/17 all around. The only thing that bugs me is the fact that they're white, which makes it look a bit ricey, IMO, and I'm getting too old to have fixed up sleds trying to race me all the time! ;-) That's why I'm looking to refinish, for a more subtle look to the car. I've considered replacing w/ BBS CH, Hamann, or OZ, but I like the fact that you don't see TE37's on M3's very often!

IMHO...i think the white matches your M3 well. But if you still want to change the finish of your rims...there is a place somewhere in Chatsworth...that powder coats...they have practically any color you want...but im sure other powder coating shop will have the same as well.
