Looking to pick up some of these as I have narrowed down between these, Falken Fk452, and maybe 1 more (if you have suggestions). I do drive aggressively at times, and the ocassional track day.
How is the tread life on these HTR Z III/Fk452? I have heard from a few sources that after 5000 miles the HTR Z III begin to lose their strength and grip characteristics? How about the Falkens holding characteristics?
I need to know how long these babies last before investing, you input is welcomed. :)

I've had both.
The FK452s might last a little big longer than the HTR ZIIIs, but I would take the HTR ZIIIs over the FK452s any day. They still last relatively long, but at the same time, they perform very well.
The HTR ZIIIs might drop off in grip after they start wearing away, but the FK452s never seem like they had the grip to begin with.

For a decent idea, I've had mine for two months. Gone through 2 track days, a few small burnouts and plenty of drifting. They still have about 50-60% of their thread left. Long lasting tires and I would definitely buy them again.
Most people would be scared because of their price. But they perform very very well.

I have FK452s on my car. The rears are more than half gone after less than 10k. This includes 2 autocrosses. They have low grip to start with. I think that they would make good drift tires.

I have Sumitomo HTR ZIII's up front and been through 2x autox's, 1 HPDE, and lots of hard driving and it has plenty of tread left. Excellent tires for the money.

I met a local guy with E36 that has the Sumitomo HTR Z III's all around... We took a couple of short trips forth and back in the mountains. I also got to drive his car one round. THESE TIRES RIP! He's put at least 5k miles on them. They grip better than my Bridgestone's RE050A's Pole Position... I'm definitely getting them...

Can anyone give some mileage numbers instead of relations such as 2x autocross, 1track day, etc.
Thanks

Does anyone think i'd have problems running HTRZ III 's in the back, and Falken 452's up front? My falkens have lots of tread in the front left, but i need to replace the rears. I hear these HTRZ's are good bang for buck
Thoughts?

I have HTRZ3's on my SC'd 328is, E46M3 and 540i6. All the cars are fairly quiet and I have tracked my E46M3 with them. Surprising amount of grip with decent feedback and little noise at the edge of adhesion. I was happy to see NO chunking at the outer edges of my fronts after a session at Thunderhill with heavy left hand bias.
