A month or two ago, I replaced the cats and front exhaust. My cat back system is borla, and does not rust. The front exhaust will rust and look like crap in no time at all. I am wondering if anyone has ever used VHT flameproof paint on the front exhaust and cat shields in order to keep them from rusting. Did it work? Does the paint withstand the heat?

It'll fall off. What you really want is to have the exhaust manifold/head ceramic coated. Its not too expensive, but requires removing.

VHT paint is only good to 550 degrees. Exhaust systems get MUCH hotter.

I used the 1,000-1,500 degree paint...Night and day difference until they heated up and burnt off the paint completely :shifty

I forgot to mention... I used that paint on my headers.
