Power mirror troubleshooting list?

My power mirrors don't work, at all (either side). I push the switch and nothing happens.

The fuse looks okay (will probably replace it anyway, just to be sure) and the switch is definitely plugged into the wires. What do I try next?

On E30s the switch gets all frigged up inside. Taking it apart and cleaning it fixes the problem. I don't know if this is even possible on an E36. Definitely find out how much the switch costs before you try it!

The switch was like $54 on RealOEM. I'm going to try the electric cleaning spray stuff on the switch first, but if that doesn't work, a new switch would be plan B. Maybe I can find someone local to do a quick swap with or something.
