I first noticed it after I had my car for a while, looked around and what do you know, leaky hoses. I went the cheap route and got some hydraulic hose and clamps. Went off without a hitch I even clamped the restrictor in the same spot it was on the old line. No leaks, fluid level is good but my pump became much louder.
When I'm giving it gas I can't hear the pump, but when my throttle position is between 0 and 25% I can hear it loud and clear, most noticable between shifts or when I was staging at the 1/4mi track.
I'm thinking over everything I did in my head, it's down to 2 suspects, how I bled the rack and what fluid I used. I bled the rack by lifting the front wheels up in the air and turning them with my hands until the rack was dry. When reinstalled the hoses and added new fluid I made sure to circulate by turning the wheels back the fourth before starting the engine. I'm thinking I never should have drained empty first, should have just bled it like you bleed brakes (without getting any air in there). Then, I used Penzoil ATF fluid, the cheaper kind (had a whole case in the garage).
Thoughts?
