View Full Version : Forced Induction advertising on BF

What does one need to do to to inquire about advertising here? Phone calls are not returned nor are emails.
TCD is interested in purchasing advertising so that the random mention of a sale, etc. doesn't result in the locking of a popular, valuable thread. TCD is also interested in having some one in charge explain the silent treatment and total lack of explanation of the locking of (now) two related threads.
Does the previous money paid for advertising not warrant even a warning?
Has a vendor paid extra to snuff out the posts of a competitor?
How long before this post is locked or deleted?

TCD is a great company!

How long has the silent treatment been occurring?
I agree that the latest TCD thread looked like vendor advertisement. TCD should obtain vendor status before listing kits, links to their site, and pricing. The explanation seems obvious.
However, TCD should also be able to get vendor status in a reasonable amount of time. Silent treatment should not be accepted.
Money paid for advertising is usually term related and not for a lifetime of ads. I don't see how previous paid ads are relevant.
If a vendor can pay money to snuff an ad, then I would be pretty ticked off. On the other hand, a vendor with a legitimate gripe (such as defamation or copyright infringment) should be able to get a thread shut down.
Last question: Don't know, maybe and hour? In Before Lock!

The thing is, Todd would have had no issue if an administrator/moderator contacted him and warned him about the mention. Todd would have been fine with deleting his post. He was simply replying to an old post that had been brought back up... a post that had been started when TCD had a paid advertising account.
Deleting Todd's post is fine, we both agree that's legitimate. Locking the entire post and then another related to blocking the first is is ludicrous and rather juvenile.

Remember M3Jon vs AA? His threads were locked, moved, cleaned, and a number of members suspended for their anti-AA comments, mostly steming form AA's complete lack of customer service for a loyal customer. But hey, they DO pay for this subforum, so it came as no shock to me. It is eye opening, however.

It is well known that certain vendors on this website pay a premium to be able to abuse members.

Is that like a bondage thing?
Anyway, How would a member with 36 posts "know" what is well known?
The TCD thread looked like advertising. The paying vendors should be on an equal level and TCD needs to become a paying vendor. Proxy posts by customers will always be susect.
For the most part, they are respectful of each other. I don't see much abuse. I hope TCD becomes a sponsoring vendor ASAP, as their product looks very exciting.

Well here is what is different 325icintn
The post was made when they were paying vendors. It was a member that asked for a dyno graph and they posted a reply to that. That seems very far from advertising wont you say?
Thats very far from it in my humble personal opinion.
And regarding the person with 36 posts...its probably a alternate username that they are using a proxy server to not get their primary account banned. Thats all

GIf it's come to that on this forum, then chuck the whole BFc thing.
m50TuT, if you're a long time member with specific then let it out.
I got no problem with TCD, or TCD posting a dyno. But the whole thread ended up being an advertisement including the price. Maybe TCS didn't bump it, maybe TCD did. Either way, they are getting the free ad with pics and prices and links to the product.
Consider, TCD pays once and then keeps getting someone to bump the thread and provide new information on TCD products. How long can this go on? Forever?
The forum has a right to identify a vendor's thread and delete it if they are no longer a paying vendor. The forum could have deleted the thread on the day TCD cancelled its vendor contract. Maybe the forum forgot about it until the thread got bumped. Maybe they just started caring. Maybe another vendor complained. No matter, TCD should pay to be a vendor like anyother vendor or see the threads get deleted.
If HPF cancelled their supporting vendor agreement and those 200 threads HPF started were deleted, I would not think anything was wrong. No difference here. It's just a matter of timing.
I simply don't think BFc did anything wrong.
BFC, contact TCD and sign them up on equal terms with the other vendors. There's no excuse.

Apparently BFC doesn't want TCD's money to advertise as there still has been no attempt to return calls or emails. A shame... Todd is preparing some enticing deals on kits and components.

if TCD post up there kit on a car and a mamber ask for a dynograph i dont see that as advertising. just as well if the same member or another member ask for the price of the kit i dont see that as advertising either. the post was never created to to sell the kit, it was to show off there handy work. TCD's work = a clean quality professional look and people who are looking for kits want that, so they are going to ask about pricing.
general public curiosity

i find that funny, how many times has the server crashed or been to busy in the last 3 months. TCD's money = more bandwidth/ stable server

I did that once trying to set up a one time group by as permitted by the forum rules. E-mailed, PM'd MDabney, etc. Never heard a thing. Later, friends were talking about whether or not I still had the things I was selling and I said, "Yeah I have some left" - I got TO for selling items while not being a vendor - regardless of the fact that I had tried to set things up - never heard anything back in the PMs or e-mail. :rofl
