on a M50 vanos with stock internals but with a rebuilt top end? (210psi compression test) I'm pretty sure it was on here before but I searched and couldn't find it. I rarely get onto the car but when I do I just want a little more umphh :D

LOL I told you 10psi with the TRM tune is the limit with your setup right now. Now if you put on a thicker MLS HG and ARP 2000 headstuds, then you can turn it up depending on the flow capacity of your turbo but you'll need a retune for the lowered compression and higher boost.

He isn't really limited to 10 psi - I wouldn't flinch at putting 12 - 14 psi through that motor as is.

lol I think I caught that boost bug. I got the HKS in and it sounds good :buttrock. I think I may bump it up to ten then buy studs and a headgasket and do a llittle more :).

It's stock compression and it's only tuned for 10psi. Therefore, anything more will definitely result in detonation and resultant damage.

Put a 3" turboback exhaust, wideband, and calibrate your boost gauge ... Then you will enjoy it even more :)

67psi, tested. 69 might blow it though so be careful not to spike

I didn't mean just turn the boost up - it'd of course have to be tuned for it. Stock compression is fine - throw 93 in it and maybe some water/meth for good measure and go make 400+ rwhp

I've seen his setup. 400whp is not going to happen with the small T3/T4 he has on the car.

Ok here's the thing - he asked whats the max boost he can run. I know nothing about his turbo or tune or anything else. What I am trying to say, is that the motor can easily take 12 - 14 psi and make gobs of power even from a T3/T04E. Not if its a .48 housing, or if the tune is only set for 3 psi, but that wasn't really what he was asking.

With a dinky T3 I'm sure you can go to 20psi, maybe even more. It's not like you will be much past 400 even maybe high 300's.

I thought my turbo was pretty big, not small. :( But honestly, .60/.63 is too small to get mid 3's?

.63 is fine!

So I could very possibly reach mid 3's? :D

Very much definitely - we've made more than that on a 2.7L VR6 with a t3/t04e 57 trim with a .63 i believe

With a .63 A/R I would think 400whp is gonna be tough but possible depending on the dyno, w/a injection, and 100 octane. You're also gonna need at least a 2.5" turbo back exhaust. The OBD-1 cats have to go.

I may need a write up from both of you guys to tell me what exactly to do...:) Would you be willing to help me along?

depends on what compressor wheel he's got also, but about the .63AR turbine - this was discussed in -> http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1080351
