I have a '97 black (cosmos) m3 with a Conforti software upgrade. I am thinking about getting the RMS kit that disconnects your alternator when you push the pedal to the floor.

Does anyone have any info on the power increase from this? How is the installation? This seems like a clever way of squeezing the last bit of power from a great engine.
thanks for the help
hey,
does it decouple the pulley system and make it free revving or something or does it just cut the power to your car that the alternator was making (and reducing the load) and switch it over to battery momentarily ??? Anyway, just remember that theres about 750 watts per horsepower so even with your 1000 watt stereo cranked and your 55w lights on, it may be only a coupla hp saved ???
Have you thought about the ERT UDP???

it give you a few more HP by reducing the crank pully size. I was told that it will give you about 5 whp. (wheel horse power).

That upgrade is almost as bad as a jimc shark injector .. Rms has good marketing skills ... That's it ... You will gain 1.4 hp for 300 bucks WOW let me get my check bbok .. Save your money and get the ERT UDP I had 1 and it was a good mod for the price .. Or even better a www.activeautowerke.com exhaust system .. Check there site on dyno charts and see what made HP and what didnt .. Get AA if you want to play with power anywhere else your just getting played
