will do.. i'm a little concerned i'm paying too much.. the salesman said he was throwing in the the floor mats and I never even asked him for them..... of course he also told me I could get more for my old car if I sell it on my own instead of the dealer buying it.. (i knew this, but odd to hear it from a salesman)

Sometimes they don't like to deal with older cars since the profit on those is very low so they either tell you that or really low ball you as they did to me. I ended up selling it on my own for much much more than they were willing to offer and the salesman was upfront about that with me.
Congrats.

did you just put an ad in the newspaper/craigslist? I've never sold a car before and I don't want to really deal with strange people calling me at wierd hours and flaking on meetings

It was a big big hassle indeed and many testdrives/frustration before selling it. I put it on autotrader (both online and print). But I got 7K instead of the 2K the dealer offered, so it was worth the hassle, not that I'd want to sell a car ever again, I plan to lease perpetually.

To get my E90 I had to ditch an E36. I was so done with the car I brought it to the dealer and was offered $2k.
I said OK, set up the deal, and went home.
Posted on Craigslist and the Forums... "MUST GO $5,000"
I owed more and put more into it in maintenance in the month I had it... Long story short I sold it for Cash in less than 12 hours....
If you are SET on getting a new car no matter what the trade is then work your deal on the car - i.e. LOWEST price on the car... Then let them work the trade in. Take the car home and sell it for whatever you think you can get higher than the trade...
I lost $5k on the car overall (including maint - LOTS of maint) but if I traded it in I would have lost $8k....
If I owned it outright it was a $3k difference in my pocket and although I 'gave it away' what do I care... the accounting made sense...

My gf's aunt owned a old mini-van. The Toyota dealership said she can get $500 bucks for the trade in (She was getting a Rav 4). She placed a for sale sign on the mini-van and it was sold for $4,000 bucks CASH.

Wanna know even scarier? I live in Austin Area as well. Round Rock to be exact. AND...the topper? this is my first BMW as well.
I love it....it's not loaded or anything. It has just enough tho to make it feel loaded to me. If it had a 6 disc changer in it...I'd be absolutley set. It's fun...quick...and it gets great mileage. It had 8400 plus miles on it when I bought it and came from Cali.
I got it used but it looks , smells and feels brand new.

New....yeah Bmw of Austin is it....I bought mine new/used. 8k plus miles on it. I got to get over to BMWofA soon. The person I got mine from recommended one of the service techs....So I should get by there to talk to him and check things out better. I was there looking at a certified and dealt with a guy named chuck Jett. Really nice guy.
If you find that tint place...let me know. Probably wont get it done for a month or so , but definatley will do it sometime. I saw a pic of a white 328 with dark windows. :buttrock

i had my old car done by mother's for tint.. i thought they did a great job and it still looks good after 7 years, but I've heard horror stories from a lot of people who go there... my sales rep recommended a place right by the dealership.. i'll check the name and let you know

My friend got his S4 tinted at Sun Tint about 2 months ago, and they did a decent job. I too am looking for a good tint shop for my M3.
Apparently there's this one in-demand tint guy that hops around to which ever audio/tint shop pays the most. I'm not sure where he's at right now.
So I may just bite the bullet and give Sun Tint a shot. :dunno
