I'm looking for a few suspension and steering parts. While doing the refresh, I figure I could upgrade from what I currently have now (for part longevity and performance). Here's what I need:

Left and right Control arms
lower control arm bushings
Shocks/struts
tie rods (inner + outer)
Front brake pads + rotors
power steering lines and reservoir (all 3 ps lines)

You guys know of any places that I could get these parts for fairly cheap as well? IMO, track parts would be preferred unless they're un-fit for street driving or is 100% more expensive than OEM. I figure if the part can handle constant heavy stress, then it can handle my spirited back-road drives and treks to work. I'm willing to pay a little more for the better quality part (MB = MC right? ;) )

So far, I've been looking at DDM CO's for the shocks. I will have my Koni SA rear shocks (still stiff) and H&R Sport springs for sale if anyone is interested btw (shocks/springs will have to arrive before I can sell that stuff though). The problem shocks are the fronts. Apparently the PO left the fronts stock but replaced the back. The fronts feel pretty fux0red. It might be something I'll polish up and hang in my dorm room, haha. Anyone have any experience with DDM's COs? How would you guys say they compare to an H&R Race + bilstein shocks setup? I know they're new, but I'd like some input from anyone who's running them.

I also think I might do a complete M3 front brake conversion. Think that's advisable?

** one more quick question, my car used to live in colorado, so there's some corrosion on the underbody of the car. It looks like I could remove the underbody panels and replace them. Can I do that or am I stuck with just trying to sand everything down and painting them? And is there any special technique to pull seized bolts and screws?

Is it worth +32 dollars on the Febi's to get Lemforder Tie rods? Anyone have any comments or suggestions for this list?

Sorry I can't say i'm much help on suspension or any of those parts, i can only afford used OEM :rofl but seriously... all that corrosion has to come off. Do you have any heavy duty de-greaser? I'd spray that all on the underbody and start scrubbin really. This might be a weekend thing.. make sure to was it all off very thoroughly. I wouldn't be suprised if you did find rust under there though..

so be prepared!

oh and for brake rotors, go with OEM Brembo's with hawk pads. I've been told that's a good combo but that may just be word of mouth... :dunno
