So I'am gettiing ready to install a new radiatior.
Most DIY and forum searches say that the fan blade schould be removed.
But after taking a closer look at the car it seems that the radiator schould pull straight up, after removing hoses and covers.
So my question is is fan blade removal really neccessary.
Any clarification will be appreciated.

Thanks for the link, a very good writeup.
Was hoping to hear from someone who did a radiator without pulling the fan.

I replaced mine without pulling the fan. You'll need an assistant to hold the fan shroud out of the way. It's a tight fit but it can be done.

when i had to replace mine i tried to pull the radiator out through the top. but after trying for about an hour a gave up and just took off the fan and replaced it like the DIY. took about 30-40 min tops.

I did it without taking out the fan. Did it alone also. Maybe sedans are easier than other cars cus it was cake

Removing the fan isn't that bad. The open end of a 32-mm wrench and a homemade fan removal tool (made from 1/8"-thick by 1.5"-wide steel strip using a Dremel and corded drill) made removal easy. $25-35 for the fan removal tools out there is just too much.
