Which model is it?

30-1800 - 93-95 Mazda RX-7

I'm already second-guessing myself.
I know from the pinouts alone that it can run 6 injectors

Don't know if it's worth messing with, for a glorified piggyback unit

I hooked up an AEM F/IC last weekend for a friend. Never ever will I be buying AEM anything.

Our AEM plug and play setup can be installed in under an hour and you can fire up the car. A piggyback with a universal harness is a different story.

Just the whole experience with their support, the forums, and information that is available. I was hooking it up to a lexus sc300 (2JZ-GT) and information was impossible to find. That coupled with the documentation they provided just confuses you more. Just everything was inconsistent.

It's probably different for their EMS (I hope it is) and I was over reacting a BIT.

Ditto

I'd much rather PnP.

Make your own pnp? I have a 402 dead ecu that you can buy very cheap and gut.

I personally had very little experience with AEM up until the current turbo Civic I'm tuning... but I have to say, I'm very impressed with it so far.

It is A LOT of information to take in at once though and don't think for a minute and you can just jump into one and get u'r car running 100%. AEM's allows control for just about EVERYTHING... It makes say an Electromotive unit look like a calculator in comparison.

I haven't had to wire up a race unit yet as this one was a PnP box. Although I'm sure for me it wouldn't be much of an issue as much as learning the software has been.

Best advise to you people who want to use it yourself... Read the AEM manuals that are included with the software. Read it twice, three times. If you've got some base knowledge about EMS's things will start to make sense after a while.

The pricing/info is in post # 12 of this thread. You can make more power than your tires can handle :D

Mike,

Are you working on adapting your AEM PnP kit to the E39/E46 platforms? If so, is there a loose timeline?

The E46 M3 is next on the list. It is more difficult because the DME needs to stay connected in addition to the AEM EMS. The E36 platform allows for removal of the DME.

if you want the factory cluster to work (which most will) you need the stock ECU :(
