I have a 95 bmw m3 with a vf engineering s/c kit. I've had it for maybe 3 mos. and everything has been good up until now. I put my vehicle up on a lift because I noticed a small spot of oil in my garage and I found oil coming fromt the actual housing of the supercharger, at first I thought it was the return line but it appears that it's coming from the supercharger housing and dripping onto the return hose. Has anybody ever ran into a problem similar to this 1? Please help guys I need you expert help thank you in advance .:help

If its from the housing and NOTthe bearings/impeller/volute, I ignored mine.

but the leak isn't that slow. I'm affraid I might damage something. how could i check if it's coming from the bearings? Is leaking from the bearing a common problem? I only looked from underneath and I saw a drip on the bottom of the charger.

I have a similar issue but it's more of a seepage than a full blown leak. It does drip some oil onto my power steering line and on the ducting underneath. Otherwise I'm too worried until it gets worse. Everything functions just fine.

yes exactly it's like a small seepage, I just got off the phone with vf and they told me to tighten the supercharger housing slightly and see if that works. If it doesn't I have to send it back to them for warranty. The leak is fast enough to leave a small oil spot on my driveway.

I would think it is leaking around the fitting for the oil drain hose or around the crimp connector on the hose..It is common on these Vortech kits, RMS , Dinan etc..

A long time ago I went to a JIC fitting..IIRC it is 3/8 NPT on the blower end and 1/2 inch barbed on the other..Then Use Aeroquip 1/2 inch ID 300 degree hose and it PUSHES on the barb and never leaks..no clamps required...

Yeah those clamps are worst ever. Not so easy replacing it though.

ok so i'll eplace those clamps on the return hose first thanks for the advice.

I agree, those type of hoses are more prone to leakage then the JIC fittings I would also try that and If you still have a problem with leakage then the leak is coming from somewhere else I would also check if the other drain plugs on the S/C are not leaking sometimes VF doesnt seal the plugs. If you still have a problem you can PM me and I can Help you take care of the S/C Dont send the blower back to VF they take a very long time and they just send it to us anyway so you are better off just dealing direct with us.
