Edit: Here's a link for all 50 state's license laws. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver%27s_license_in_the_United_States It was South Dakota, Learners at 14, Drivers at 14 and 3 months. There are a lot of states that give learner's permits at 14 too. Maybe that's what I was thinking of...

The guys who keyed it were on my school's baseball team. In a pretty complicated series of events I got into a little scuffle with one of them. A few days later I come back to my car to see the windows and rear views bashed in and swastikas keyed all over it (I think they knew I was Jewish). I don't think I could ever do that to a car, much less to the person who owned it.

Yes. Haven't confirmed it with RHCPFitz yet, but I'm pretty sure the standard age limit is going to be 14-20. I'll explain why below.


who gets to choose new recruits? or go about testing them? or is this more like a free for all (i think we should have a few requirements, then we'll know they're loyal. Loyal kids + bombs = no more old fekkers club :dunno)

For the most part it's a free for all. The age limit is either going to be 15-20 or 14-20 because, depending on which state you live in, you could have a license/learners license. South Dakota for example gets their license at 14 and 3 months.


I'll look for pics. The keying was about 7 months ago and I've gotten a new computer since then but I'm pretty sure I have a few somewhere. Maybe on my external hard drive.

The guys who keyed it were on my school's baseball team. In a pretty complicated series of events I got into a little scuffle with one of them. A few days later I come back to my car to see the windows and rear views bashed in and swastikas keyed all over it (I think they knew I was Jewish). I don't think I could ever do that to a car, much less to the person who owned it.

And yeah, feuer frei is rammstein. Means "Open Fire!" See avvy for more details.

I hate school sports, not to mention the people on the teams. Some are okay, but for the most part I can't stand them. Didn't your school administration do anything about it?

Rammstein is awesome, but I haven't listened to them in a long time. I got a new comp a while back as well and all of that got lost in the process.

They got off clean. It upsets me a bit because they should have gotten some LEGAL consequence and gotten expelled (I don't know what the punishment is for that kind of vandalism in my area). Asides from being upset that my car got demolished I kinda profited from this. I had comprehensive so insurance paid completely. What the insurance didn't know was that it needed lots of maintenance that I had been putting off. I got $4500 when it was worth about $3000.

Seriously though, I think you should need a license to be able to be in this club. You can't be a real car enthusiast if you can't even drive without mommy or daddy in the passenger seat.

You're right, not all HS sports teams are bad. I guess I jumped the gun on that one because the only people who I actually know that play sports are the ones I have a problem with. Around here it's the football players, the wrestlers, and the baseball players. The rest are okay. I tend to disagree. I've been a real car enthusiast, BMW specifically, since about 5th grade. You can be a car enthusiast, but not necessarily a driving enthusiast. The rules may change as we go, there seems to be a strong bias against people without licenses.

Gaff tape is better than duct tape IMO. It's what we use in Technical Theatre. I kept my turn signal in for a while with Gaff tape and when the gaff tape stopped working [6 months later], I used duct tape and it fell out after two days.

i just graduated this spring and i played 4 years of football and 4 years of lacrosse. i can totally see where you're coming from with the whole football players are dicks yada yada yada because there were some douchebags on the team. but at the same time there were some guys that are prolly the nicest people you'll ever meet.
as for me, i played football, i wasn't super good at it, but i wasn't terrible. played cornerback for my high school and as for the sterotype, as long as you weren't a dick to me for no reason or gave me a reason to not like you, i tried to be friends with you.

I just spent a very large sum of money to get my car resprayed so the only decal going on my car is an LTW flag...and I'm still only about 85% sure about that one, and if I do, I'm having a professional put it on for me.

And, just for the record, I've paid for everything on my car, including the $3000 worth of repairs that I did this summer. I'm sorry, what car do you own? Is that a....330Ci that I see there? Yeah, WE don't know the value of money with our $2000-$7000 E30's and E36's, but the guy with an '02 330Ci does. I'm not exactly sure how much those run, but I'd imagine it's probably something like 2-5x more than our cars.

I lived in Coral Springs, south of Lake Okeechobee.

I had to drive my mom's Durango for a month while my car was getting painted....for the most part I hated it, it was boring and like driving a tank. HOWEVER....the tires are almost bald on it...or....the were...now they ARE bald. V8 has a lot of low end torque, and when you've learned to drift with auto slushbox bimmers, you can drift a truck with bald tires :rofl Not exactly what you were talking about, but you get my point.

Deer at 120? That would total the car and he'd be dead, no question about it. The deer I hit ran into the side of my car and I was only going 55 and it still caused over $3000 in repairs. Just for the record, there was deer hair between my tire and my wheel, hair under the sidemarker in the fender, and hair in the holes of the trim pieces that got ripped off :rofl

Kinna reminds me of once when I was on a long drive to Indiana, about 13 of 15 hours in, the sun was just coming up, I had a big rig next to me and I'm tired as hell...I look at the road and theres half of an animal on the middle of the road. Seriously looked like the cross section of a deer or something. Just barely made over it with little more than a "thud", but I pulled over, and had to pull deer guts out of my lower grill, wheel wells, and even my doors. I also had guts coming from under my car like mad next time I washed it.

If I were in a car that rode even a half inch lower, there would have been damage.

sorry for the delay. but me and a buddy were walking around the woods around 11 heading back home. came to the railroad tracks and heard voices. so we went to check it out. saw dudes all dressed up burning a cross.....pretty psycho. oh and one time on our way home we say a cross burning on the side of a church, now that was just weird. :shifty
