Friend of mine Gave me a Dinan Computer from his wrecked M3;) but as you people know the car wont start:( what can i do to make it work?

Verify it's the correct computer, and you might have to re-sync EWS.

ews is a security feature. u will need to go to a dealer or shop that can sync the ews chip in ur key to the cars ews computer

If he'll give you his EWS module, and a key from his wreck, and the key antenna.....

you can tape his key in his key ring...tape the bundle under the dash and plug it into the transmitter instead of your car's key ring.

Then swap EWS modules under the dash (behind the glovebox), and use his DME. You can start and run your car with your keys, you can lock you doors with your keys... but, anyone could also hot wire your car under the dash behind your existing key harness as the EWS is bypassed.

You could prevent the theft, and in a sense preserve EWS by removing your buddies key from its ring whenever you leave the car... but that sounds like work.

Alternatively, drive to the dealer.... plug in his computer, and use the dealers computer to align the system to your key/ews module.

For a fee I can do this via the mail, but I'm not trying to solicit business, it would be easier to do it locally I'm quite sure... if I were trying to make a buck, I wouldn't explain how to circumvent!

Some US models can be hot wired to circumvent EWS by hardwire, but that would lead to potentially filling the internet with ways to steal cars, so you'll have to find that information on your own.
